Is there a thread here to post information on restaurant reopening announcements (either official or indications of such)?
I suspect there are people affiliated with DIS that follow such things. I'd think perhaps a "sticky" thread might be well received,
We are going in July so our 60 day window doesn't open until early May; but right now there are relatively few restaurants even open.
I am assuming that crowds will be bigger in the summer with the vaccine rollout going fairly well and that Disney will likely expand their capacity limits from whatever they are right now.
Since I assume restaurants themselves won't be at 100% capacity even in the summer, we actually worry that we'll have difficulty finding a place to eat each day even through ADR. We already realize we'll likely have zero flexibility like we have in the past. (In past trips we were able to walk in some places in Epcot or Boardwalk even with 6 or more people).
Mainly dinner - we'd probably try for breakfast at Chef Mickey's on departure day (a tradition) but otherwise we'll do grab and go breakfast and likely lunch at the resort / pool.
Our large group (11 people including 4 kids aged 3 through 7) already are bracing for the reality of limited choices in many things - and a couple have already suggested we cancel yet again (we cancelled last year out of necessity). The majority are excited to get back to WDW- with the little ones especially. We'll be flexible but we want to be as prepared as possible
