I'll be staying at PBH in August for the first time and need some help. Is it necessary during the summer to make reservations at the restaurants at the resorts and City Walk ahead of time, or can you just walk in without much of a wait? If reservations are required, can anyone tell me how far in advance you can make them.

Also, I'm a member of AAA and heard that you can get discounts at many of the places in US/IOA. Is that true?

Thanks for the help! :flower:

Staying on site will get you "next available seating" at the restaurants at City Walk and the parks. It will not get it for you at the hotel restaurants or at either Emeril's restaurant. You can make reservations for Emeril's Tchoup Chop or Emeril's in City Walk in advance at opentable.com Your AAA card will get you 10% off at most restaurants at the parks and City Walk.

Thanks so much for the info. I wasn't aware of the "next available seating" benefit. Do you just show your room key?

Pretty much. Best idea is to go early, at 11:30am, or 4pm for happy hour.
Then take the left overs back to your room, or order 1 meal and share, leaving some room for desert.

also, if it's mid to late august you should have no issues with big crowds anyway. not sure where you plan to dine, but mythos, emeril's and the kitchen are all great!

I made reservations for the Hard Rock Cafe for Aug last year at noon, when we got there it was dead! Despite high season the earlier lunch time meant no wait anyway.

Regardless of having special access due to your onsite status, minimum waits can be gained by eating outside traditional times.
