Hi ALL

Ok newbie here so bear with me if i ask questions that seem silly

We are making our first disney trip 30 december - 3rd jan! A stop over before a business trip so unfortuantely cant stay longer this time!!

I was thinking today, that i should book a dinner for 31st december as we will be in magic kingdom all day and nite and would like to have a nice dinner! I have no idea of what is a nice restaurant there or how to go about making a booking (i am in Australia, do i need to call??) Can someone please recommend a good restaurant? Also on the 1st and 2nd we will be in different parks i guess but no idea what yet really should read the boards more to get an idea - any suggestion on an itinery and some other restaurants worth booking? It is just my husband and i going

Thanks in advance!!

I am not sure I can help you, but I think what others will says is that it is going to be very busy and it will probably be hard to get an ADR given the timeframe and the time you are going. I would call Disney and see where they have ADRs available!

Yes, call Disney and ask them what might be available in the park that night. I'm afraid that the answer may be "nothing". I made my reservations for Epcot months ago. You can also consider eating at one of the MK resorts (Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge), but you will not be 100% guaranteed to get back into the park after dinner. Sorry :(. You are coming at the busiest time of year. My best piece of advise is to get to the parks right when they open. You can get more done in the first two hours than you can the rest of the day.

we are going to be there for New Years...I'd love some suggestions.

I always recommend that you try to get a reservation at a restaurant in the park you plan to spend the day in. A dining reservation does not guarantee you entrance into a park that has closed due to capacity (usually MK is first to close). If you leave the park to go to a nearby resort for a meal you may not get back in.

I would also call as soon as possible. There may not be any reservations left for NYE. If there aren't, I would call again about 45 days out (the date that any package cancellations will be made) to see if anything opens up.

Are you staying on property or off? That also affects your ability to get into a park on NYE. When the parks start getting crowded, they will stop admitting off property guests first.

Personally, the few times we've been brave enough to go to the parks for NYE we have just eaten at CS locations, kind of snacking our way through the day.

We have gotten into Disney Studios after 3PM without a problem two years in a row. I think it's probably the least crowded park on NYE. If you can't arrive when the park opens AND cannot stay until it closes (after midnight), I'd recommend staying away from MK and Epcot and heading to Disney Studios.

I have also been able to re-enter both the MK and Epcot after 5:00 pm. We usually go back to our resort for a break around 1:00 pm. We're going to the Studios for 12/30 this year to see the fireworks :).
