Landry, a national restaurant chain operator, is building an "Asian-themed" restaurant in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom Park, to be open in 2007 or 2008. Don't expect anything authentic -- these are the folks who build and operate Rainforest Cafes. Also, don't expect this restaurant to be a TS option on the dining plan.
Ah. I haven't been there to see the area yet (less than 3 weeks to go for me - wahooooooo) but saw something about EE and the townlike area around it on Discovery and it seems like it could handle a "base town" type eating place. Kind of like one of the places imagineers went when researching or something.

Well, not to slam Rainforest Cafe but if they did do a TS in Asia, it prob couldn't be even close to authentic and then what do you have? another noodle house? Top ramen? LOL. I'd prob still eat there but something like Tibeten food might be cool. (Not sure what Tibeten food is like but I like food so . . .) Or maybe authentic, non-Americanized Chinese or something? Just a thought. If I were president imagineer . . . .
Well, I'll be optimistic for now. I'm sure it will be absolutely beautiful and maybe the food won't be too bad, either. A couple steps up from Top Ramen, at least.
