Last year we went to Chef Mickey's with this same group, and it was great! We were able to book in advance for a 5pm seating and enjoy a character dinner without needing to pay an admission to the park that day (we even got our own room just for our group!)

Any ideas for this size group if we want to try something different? About half are kids from 3 to 11, and the other half adults. It needs to be something that we don't need a park admission for. We'll be going the last night before everyone goes home for a special 'last' dinner!

Thanks in advance, everyone!

though I've never personally eaten at this restuarant I've heard its great! Ohana! Especially with Lilo and Stitch just coming out the whole Hawaian Theme could be cool, you could get the plastic layes for the kids. If you want a menu I would suggest going to www.wdwig.com but I think it could be a lot of fun for you

Thanks for this suggestion. It sounds like a great place. Anyone been there for the Character dinner? Do you know which characters are there?
Thanks!

'Ohana only has a character meal at breakfast. Dinner is character free, but they do have hula hoop games and coconut races to entertain the chillun's.

Another place for a whole group is 50's Prime Time Cafe at MGM. We went with a group of about 74 people last week and it was awesome!!!! They did have to put us in different rooms however but we were close enough to each other that we could see some of each and get up and go visit a bit.

Generally if you call enough ahead of time you can make a priority seating for a large group just about anywhere that takes priority seatings. You will need to call the actual restaurant though generally but the WDW-DINE number can tell you that when you call.

The WL has a private dining area (I think it might be called the Library??). I'm not sure if it can handle 40 people, but if you place a phone call to the resort, they could surely tell you whether or not it could. I would also call WDW-DINE and ask to speak to the Group Dining folks. They should have a list of restaurants that could accommodate your party (and I bet they could FAX it to you, too).

I second the reccomendation of 'Ohana's. We had a DIS meet there in May. I guess there were about 30 or so of us. It whouldn't be hard to book a group of 40 as long as you call early enough. I believe they will do the same as when you were at CM's and set the PS for 5. I think thye usually put large groups before the official opening.
Prime time would require admission the the parks so that probably isn't an option for your group. One of the larger rooms might hold 40 but I don't think so.

I like the suggestion others have made about 'Ohana, as long as everyone in your group is big on meat. The food's pretty good and the atmosphere is fun. Plus, if you're dining on a night where the fireworks are being done at the MK, and dining at the right time, you can step out onto the beach there at the Poly to watch them!

Just as another suggestion, you might want to think about the California Grill - they have a room that's to the left (way to the left, sort of around the corner) that I *think* would accomodate 40, and it would give you some privacy, plus outstanding food and spectacular views!

I was able to book Ohanas for 42 people for the exact date we were looking for, and the time of 10:40 am will be good for 'brunch'. I like the idea of the plastic lei's and will buy some for the kids!

Am I correct that it's Mickey, Chip & Dale? Also, with a 10:40 ps, anyone know what time we'll need to be out of the restaurant?

Many thanks to everyone who responded, much appreciated!!
