Hi,
We just got back from Disney-- and I loved reading the reviews and comments on this board while planning my trip so I thought I would share our experience. There were three of us--me, DH, and DS (just turned 6).

Toy Planet Pizza - MGM- actually pretty good pizza, salad was mostly lettuce, not chopped up well, but the cheese, etc. on it were good. We had pizza and salad from here at least twice, maybe three times during the trip. Convenient and pretty tasty. We were doing the Star Wars thing-- on four separate days.

Sci-Fi Restaurant-- somehow this restaurant did not quite make it with us, I think the seating was a bit tight -- three on one car seat-- we made them give us another car seat and tiny counters for the food (our son eats all of his courses at the same time so there was just not enough room). Cute place though, our waitress was good, and the food was adequate-- I had the chili-- nicely spiced -- and the tomato salad-- good but tomatoes were a bit squishy (not juicy ripe); DH had burger and crinkle fries-- good; DS-- had hot dog and fries -- gave him a horrendous tummy ache.

Boma-- We ate here twice during the trip-- the first night and the last night, we would have eaten here more but our experience with PS on the first night just turned us off the restaurant. We had a 8:00 PS-- arrived about 15 minutes early, were seated 1hr 15 min AFTER our PS-- another couple near us arrived at 7:10 and were seated at 8:45, we heard another woman say I said the food was good, not the service. Our biggest complaint was that we could not get Therine (spelling) at the front desk to even give us a hint as to when we were going to be seated-- she was rude, condescending, arrogant, etc.-- my husband finally did get information that we were still on the list after 40 minutes. Several parties just got fed up and left. We made our second PS at 9:40-- the last PS and were seated promptly. Food was great-- all of us loved it, the pork, chicken, soups-- incredibly good, pineapple cheesecake-- yum, salads, etc.-- there was really nothing you could go wrong with -- but I find very little worth that kind of wait and treatment. On the second night, I spoke at length with the manager-- who was very nice but he was substituting and was actually the manager of Jiko-- about our initial experience-- and how such a wonderful restaurant just did not want the kind of reputation that Boma was getting for customer service.

Duty calls-- I will post more later. diane

Diane - you've left us hanging LOL

I love BOMAS - but golly that is a long wait even with a PS, I guess this place is becoming very popular.

Can't wait to hear more :)

I agree with you-- we love Bomas-- we are just going to be very selective about the timing of our PS from now on-- my son and husband just can't tolerate that kind of wait after an exhausting day at the parks-- from now on we are going to try for the first PS of the night. diane

Sorry to hear about your dinner at BOMAs!

BOMAs has become a family favorite and a definite "Must Do" for us every trip! We usually try for a 6:15-6:30 PM reservation, and we've never had a problem. I have heard them telling people without a PS that it would be at least an hour wait. One time, we did have an 8:00 PS, but we still only waited about 10 minutes. The Zebra Domes are so good!!!!

Great reviews! Sorry to hear about your Boma experience. Maybe we will try to do a very early PS on our upcoming trip to try and avoid waiting so long!

Diane, I enjoyed your reviews. I dined solo at Boma for breakfast and dinner in March. I had an early PS for dinner yet waited in the check in line for a long time to check in. I agree...they need to improve. I also walked up to the podium the following afternoon to change the time of my PS for breakfast the next day and the young lady working there gave me an absolutely scathing look. I excused myself and went to my room and called Disney Dining to make the change.

I wonder if it was the same girl-- it was funny, but the manager from Jiko knew exactly who I was talking about when I lodged my complaint with him. Diane

I sent you a PM Diane!
