I went to the site to get cards and noticed that you have to buy for example $100 worth of food to use the $50 card I was going to buy for $5? on the 90% sale?

I wanted to use them for gifts but if you have to buy twice the dollar amount to be able to use the card that isn't really a very nice gift. Can anyone confirm that is how this site works?

Each restaurant sets the amount you have to spend to use the certificate. I find that the best values are the ones that sell $25 certificates with a minimum $35 purchase. Since there are only 2 of us the $50 when you spend $100 almost never works. The other one we commonly buy is the $10 certificate for a minimum $20 purchase.

We used a $10 certificate this past saturday. We bought 4 certificates we will use when we come to Orlando in October. Just read the offers and buy what you think will work for the people you want to gift. If it's a family of 5 a $50 certificate with a $100 minimum will work just fine.

Generally, as the month goes on they offer more discounts. Next most likely will 70% off, the last week sometimes it goes to 80% off. Last week was the first week I have ever seen 90%.

I noticed for places near me that they also have raised the money you have to spend to use the GC. Be sure to read the fine print. Also, some of them add in an 18% tip.
