I have only bought certificates from restaurants.com once and it worked well. I think at the time it wa 80% off so they were very cheap. Does anyone know when they get discoutned again? In time for Xmas? Any links for discounts?

Yesterday! they are 80% off with the code PUMPKIN at checkout. Sign up for their e-mails and you will know exactly when. :thumbsup2

Cool! I have a question. How long will the gift cert. be good for? We're planning our trip for mid-august of 2011. Do they have an exp. date?

They usually expire a year from the date of purchase. Read the disclaimers on each certificate before you purchase as they are all different.

I would not buy them unless I was going to use them soon. I have had 4 in the past few months become invalid because the place is no longer accepting them. They do let you swap it for another but its a pain in the neck when you go to the place and they tell you they are not participating anymore!
I also would never give them out as gifts since they are more of a coupon than a gift certificate. If I have to spend 25.00 to use a "gift" of 25.00 then its really not a gift...

I just ordered a couple with the coupon code pumpkin and it still worked. Great news because i was going to naturally go there anyway next week. I agree that I wouldn't give them as a gift either, I consider it a coupon and when used correctly, a good one.

Really, I'm so sorry that happened to you! I have always gotten an email letting me know the restaurant has either closed or they are no longer participating. The one time I went to a restaurant that was no longer participating, they honored my coupon for me since I already had it and they don't expire, which answers someone else question ... they use to expire after a year, but they no longer have an expiration date and at the bottom it says "Never Expires".

I agree with the "gift" comment :)
