Restaurant charging diners for workers health care??

I think any business owner who does this is just making a political statement. If your costs are going up for any reason - health care, the cost of beef, rent, whatever, just raise your prices accordingly. Calling it a 'health care surcharge' is posturing.

I really doubt Disney would do that. It adjusts prices for its meals from time to time to cost increasing costs, but it certainly isn't going to do it as a passive-aggressive political statement.

Yup, just being politically passive-aggressive. Are there surcharges for other rising prices? Power, water, gas, rent, food, liquor, dishware, utensils, glassware, furniture, advertising?

Business expenses go up and down. Consumer prices go up and down. Putting a surcharge on a customer's bill is only there to make a statement.

They won't do it that way. They will just raise prices.
