Hey everyone, I'm planning my WDW trip (first timer!) and I plan on making dining a part of the experience and I just wanted some recommendations.

So... here we go... I'll make this into a survery/questionaire type thing so it's easier for people to give answers! Feel free to list more than one item on any question! Also, feel free to explain anything in greater detail.
Use of these questions are completely optional.
Items can be from anywhere in the WDW resort.
-Your most favorite meals? (Got any pictures?)
-Restaurants or meals to avoid, and why?
-Most atmospheric restaurant?
-"Must try" desserts?
-"Must try" snack?
-Best alcoholic drinks?
-Anything else you'd like to recommend?

Thank you! I hope a lot of people respond! :wizard:

My dd 13 favorite is crystal palace. We live in fl and go to Disney fairly often so we only eat one or two sit downs per trip. If it is her turn to choose this is where she will pick. My favorit is Chef de France at EPCOT, it is delicious and we have always had great service there. I really can not think of a restaurant that I wouldn't recommend but I would suggest going here and pouring of the menus http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm

-Your most favorite meals? Our first day is always Wolfgang Puck Express for lunch and Chefs De France for dinner. Anything at Pucks and Filet at Chef's, bot with Creme Brulee for desert! (Got any pictures?)

-Restaurants or meals to avoid, and why? Will never never do Chef Mickeys again for dinner. Never. Ever. Golden Corral on a bad night.

-Most atmospheric restaurant? Depends on what you're looking for. Loved the simple beauty of Grand Floridian Cafe. Love the games for the kids at O'Hana. Love Olivia's at OKW on the patio for breakfast.

-"Must try" desserts? Creme brulee at Chef's!

-"Must try" snack? Jalapeno Cream Cheese Pretzel! YUMMM!

-Best alcoholic drinks? DH likes the "Magical Star"

-Anything else you'd like to recommend? YES! Kouzzina's was delish, as was Le Cellier and Grand Floridian. Sunshine Seasons in Epcot is a fantastic CS option, their desert area is a freakin bakery!!!

Your most favorite meals? (Got any pictures?)

The meal I am most looking forward to on our upcoming trip is lunch at Sanaa. DH and I thought that the meal we had there last year was the best we've ever had at Disney. Our server was fantastic. We had the bread service and two different kinds of curry.

-Restaurants or meals to avoid, and why?

I'm in the minority but I think Le Cellier is ridiculously overhyped on these boards. The last two times, we've had crappy service and mediocre food.

-Most atmospheric restaurant?

I like the Sci-Fi and 50's Primetime for the atmosphere. Makes you feel like you're back in the 50's or at the drive-in. :thumbsup2 For a more romantic meal, I like the Moroccan feel of Restaurant Marrakesh. The tile is beautiful.

-"Must try" desserts?
I really love the cheesecake at the Sci-Fi. It's sprinkled with cracker jacks and M&M's. We also love the Choclate Moose at Le Cellier. It's becoming quite apparent that I have rather childish taste in desserts. :lmao: We're doing the Wishes Dessert Buffet this trip so I'll probably have a new favorite soon.

-"Must try" snack?
DD loves the churros with caramel sauce. Sadly, I can't think of a single must try snack right now! I usually get boring things like a banana or an apple in an attempt to even out all the desserts.

-Best alcoholic drinks?
Beer in Germany and the UK and margaritas in Mexico.

-Anything else you'd like to recommend?

For QS, my favorites are Sunshine Seasons and Tangierine Cafe in Epcot. SS has a very tasty salmon dish and we love the lamb schwarma and tabbuleh at Tangierine cafe. I also make a special trip to Columbia Harbor House in the MK for their hummus and broccoli slaw sandwich.

I hope you enjoy your planning and your trip!

-Your most favorite meals? Ohana for dinner (family style steak, shrimp, chicken, pork, noodles, salad, bread, chicken wings and the best dessert ever), Whispering Canyon Cafe dinner (all-you-can-eat BBQ skillet), anything in Epcot (except Mexico, which is like anything you can get at home except more expensive).
-Restaurants or meals to avoid, and why? Anything you can get at home...live it up on vacation!
-Most atmospheric restaurant? Again, I love the atmospheres of Ohana,WCC, and Epcot. There's the Coral Reef if you like fish or Crystal Palace for the characters and old-fashioned charm.
-"Must try" desserts? The bread pudding at Ohana. Cloud horn from Norway. Napoleon from France. Cupcakes and marshmellows on a stick from Hollywood Studios (I always go to the Villian shop)
-Best alcoholic drinks? Citron slushie from France. Plum wine from Japan.

We recommend:
MK - CRT ( castle lunch or dinner) OR OHANA Dinner at the POLY (monorail)
(everyone should eat in the castle once IMO)

EPCOT - LeCellier (lunch or dinner) - filet is great EVERYTIME AND Chefs de France - (lunch - quiche combo)

DHS - Sci-Fi (lunch or dinner - bugers/shakes) Great atmosphere! 2. 50s Primetime (dinner - fried chicken)

AK - We have only eaten at Rainforest here (it's like Hard Rock Cafe)

We also like: 1900 Park Fare Dinner at the GF (monorail) is a good buffet and has characters.

Snack: Dole Whip or Float (MK or the POLY)

-Your most favorite meals? (Got any pictures?) Boma for dinner, Kona for breakfast.
-Restaurants or meals to avoid, and why? I have never really had a horrible meal at Disney World, but I did get very sick after eating at CiCi's pizza in Kissimmee.
-Most atmospheric restaurant? Coral reef, Biergarten, California Grill during Wishes
-"Must try" desserts? Zebra Domes at Boma
-"Must try" snack? Schoolbread in Norway, Dole whip Float at Aloha Ilse in Adventureland, Cream cheese filled pretzel in tommorowland. Turkey legs!
-Best alcoholic drinks? Viking Coffee in Norway (great with the schoolbread) Grand Marnier Orange Slush in France, Plum wine slushie in China, Black and Tan in UK

I would say to eat at Earl of Sandwich in DTD. It has lots of sandwichs that you can walk with, or eat in. Although, it gets quite busy around lunch (that I have been there).

-:stitch:DD13-

-Your most favorite meals? I really like anything at Le Cellier but do not consider it a 2 TS dining plan restaurant, so can't really be my favorite, can it? I love, love, love breakfast at Crystal Palace! Breakfast lasagna is a favorite!

-Restaurants or meals to avoid, and why?I was not at all impressed with Sci Fi. I also thought Kona would be better with all the reviews here, but I didn't like the theming. Not Disney at all. The food was fine, but DH can make me Tonga Toast here at home.

-Most atmospheric restaurant? 50's is great for theming and I just love the feeling I have in Crystal Palace.. so crisp and bright! I am also a sucker for the colonial theme in Liberty Tree Tavern, but haven't been there without characters so that might change my opinion. Chef Mickey's means fun to me as well!

-"Must try" desserts? Chocolate Mousse at Le Cellier is a favorite, anything at Sunshine Seasons, and the Dad's Sundae at 50's! It has carmel corn topping off a wonderful sundae! I may get carmel corn at the store to have with ice cream today!

-"Must try" snack? Dole Whips in Adventureland in MK! I also like pastries in France at Epcot!

-Best alcoholic drinks?I think the price is pretty high for drinks there so I usually don't do them. I like getting wine in France in Epcot is all really.

-Anything else you'd like to recommend? My family cannot live without Mickey Bars and Popcorn! Have fun!

-Your most favorite meals? Mushroom Filet at Le Cellier
-Restaurants or meals to avoid, and why? There are a few I wouldn't return to but others really like so I won't mention
-Most atmospheric restaurant? Coral Reef

Coral Reef -Baileys and Jack Daniel's Mousse* - topped with a ganache and chocolate cigar - San Angle-Moras con Cajeta - chocolate mousse with mixed seasonal berries and milk caramel
-"Must try" snack? Hot Fudge sundae at POP, Sweet Almond Pretzel at Norway Kringla, many items at the F & W Fest
-Best alcoholic drinks? Gray Goose, Any Sam Adams by the American Adventure
-Anything else you'd like to recommend? Tonga Toast @ Captain Cooks @ Polly, Breakfast @ Crystal Palace @ MK or Boma Animal Kingdom Lodge,Jalapeno Cream Cheese Pretzel Animal Kingdom,Caramel Shop in Grremany EPCOT,Tuna Sandwich at Columbia Harber house Magic Kingdom, made to order omlet at Riverside food court.

Favorite drinks in Epcot: Both Slushes in France, the oolong peach schnapps drink in china, fiesta margarita in Mexico and the numerous margaritas and snacks at the cave in Mexico.

the kaki gori (sno cone) is a great snack in japan on a hot day!

My fav meals are Filet w/ mushroom risotto and pretzels sticks dipped in canadian cheddar soup @ Lecelliers. Second running would be Lasagna @ Tutto, love this and I dont like lasagna.

Restaraunt to avoid for us would be Hollywood and Vine, we like buffets just not this one.

I enjoy the atmoshphere in the Castle just not so much the food. A must visit once. Narcosses because I love to go on balcony with hubby and kids and watch Wishes. Biergarten is also another fav.

Must try snack: Starring Rolls Peanut Butter Cupcake. Main St. bakery double chocolate muffin.

Best alcoholic drink for me is always a Pina Coloda on the beach @ Poly watching Wishes. My hubby would say Grey Gooose Slushie from France at least two, a quick buzz, and he is a 6'2 240lbs.

Tusker House for Breakfast Rocks!!! Boma for dinner.!

What is "50 PT" and is "AP" Artist Point?

Sorry, I'm a WDW noob

Nevermind. I got it!
50's primetime and artist point.

Favs:
-Le Cellier, i think it is pretty obvious but here it goes anyway :rotfl:, perfectly tender steaks with an GREAT! taste. Then of course there are the array of breads (pretzel being my fav) and the "smores" for dessert.
-Chefs De France oui oui!
-Kouzzina has an AMAZING breakfast (though we have never tried dinner). Where else can you get waffles with mascarpone cheese atop or a blueberry orange granola pancake larger than the plate. :goodvibes (and due to my brothers deathly allergy to tree nuts we met the chef, and she is great!)
-Sci-Fi Dine in has a great Reuben and steak salad. All this and it is at a reasonable price.
-Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch) a truly american adventure.
-Tonys Town Square my family is italian and bc Via Napoli and Tutto Italia both have so many tree nuts on their menus we don't take the chance. This past trip however we figured we would give Tonys a chance (we had been there twice before years ago and thought it was OK). While chatting with the chef he told us his wife also had a tree nut allergy. this made us feel a thousand times safer knowing that he knows what he is talking about. Then when the food arrived it was the closest italian food we have ever had to my moms :) (We all either had the baked ziti or eggplant catasta both were amazing)

Avoid:
-Boma we tried Boma once and it was a TERRIBLE experience. As previously mentioned my brother has a tree nut allergy(deathly) so on all of our ressies we put his allergy. Then upon sitting down at the restaurant the waiter gets the chef and the chef tells him what he can and cannot have on the menu. At buffets the chef brings him up to the buffet and goes through what he can and cannot have. At Boma the chef came out and brought him up all good right, no. While up there all he said was "yes" or "no" to each item not saying why or anything. And due to the speed he spoke and his accent it was extremely hard to follow. Still not exactly knowing what he could and could not eat my brother returned to his seat. So my mom went up and asked what kind of nuts were in each dish so my brother knew what to stay away from. Upon my mom asking the chef got nasty and rude and told her that if she didn't like it she could leave :scared1: We took him up on this and left. Luckily we had a very understanding waiter. This is not one we will be going to anytime soon.
-The Wave for a more affordable breakfast we chose this our last trip. Upon arriving the entire restaurant was empty, we thought that this would be good, a nice quiet meal. The chef came out to our table to talk to us just as usual. He asked my brothers allergy and he told him tree nuts and that it is deadly. When he heard this the chef seemed to become scared which in turn made us nervous. Too be sure my brother got an omelet that the chef said would not be cross-contaminated. My mom got a waffle, my sister also got an omelet, my dad got eggs, my little brother got mickey waffles, and i got french toast. The only thing that was good was the mickey waffles :sad2:

Atmospheric:
-Biergarten
-Chefs de France (they make you feel as if your actually in france. outside the windows are all the shops and performers not. It is not as if you look out and you see the rest of Epcot.)
-Sci-Fi
-50s PTC

Snacks:
-Germany Pretzels
-French Pastries
-Jalapeno Cheese Pretzel
-Mickey Waffle W/ Ice Cream (our own concoction from Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square)
-Kaki Gori

Your most favorite meals? Boma for TS dinner, Crystal Palace for TS breakfast. Captain Cooks & Tangierine Cafe for CS meals.

-Restaurants or meals to avoid, and why? Haven't come across one yet, though I'm not a fan of the turkey sandwich at Starring Rolls.
