:flower: My husband is 1/2 Norwegian, and we have visited Norway in the past, so we are going to try Akershus but am a little worried about the Princess aspect. I don't care about the Princesses, nor does my DH, and my DS will be horrified if a princess talked to him...that's a girly thing to this 9 year old  ! Are they in your face, or if we sit in a corner and ignore them will they leave us be?
We've never been to a character meal before, and I've heard they go from table to table.
:disrocks:

They do go from table to table. We sat near a table with a girl about 6 and a boy who looked about 9-10. The princess were very good about not getting too "girly" with the boy but there was a girl there to take the focus off. Maybe you could speak with your waiter or waitress about letting the princesses skip your table. But it is a great photo op. Or, maybe you could get one or two pics with your whole family.

A family photo with the princesses WOULD be a great keepsake!
You gotta admit it!

We ate here last spring. My sons were 7 & 2 and my daughter was 6. The princesses did not over do it with the boys. My boys did not seem to mind them being around. My sons are use to doing things for their sister also. We had a great time at this restaurant.princess:

Haha. Those pesky princesses! ;)

If you find a character attendant with the yellow Mickey Mouse shirts on, you can just tell them you would rather have the princesses skip your table. I PROMISE you the princesses will not be offended as many adults eat there just for the food.

If you forget to tell anyone, the princesses will come by and just ask how you are and maybe make a comment or two ('is this your Prince Charming? Where is your castle at? etc). You can just be cordial and inform them that you are having a nice time and just came by for lunch/dinner. End with a 'thank you for visiting with us' and the princess will be on her way. Trust me. :goodvibes

Enjoy your meal. My boyfriend is Norwegian and is a server at Akershus and loves the Kjottkakker. You both might as well!
