I know that onsite guests can make ADRs way in advance, but we are staying offsite this stay. When can we make ADRs? We are looking at Chef Mickey's, Restaurantosaurus, and maybe Germany in Epcot.

Since we have a car, is there any other places we should try at the resorts besides Chef Mickey's? We will have myself, dh, 2 grandmas, grandpa, dniece 22(but a very young 22 yearold), ds12, dd13, ds4, ds2

To the best of my knowledge you can make your reservations 180 days from the day you wish to dine at the location if you are offsite.

You can make your ADRs at 180 days.

Lots and lots of good choices at the resorts. What kind of food would you enjoy? Are you interested in character meals, meals with entertainment? Fancy, or casual?

I love the DIS, I just came to ask this answer myself :cool1: Thanks!

We are interested in something different. And doing at least one character meal that would interest most of the ages going (2,4,12,13, and 5 adults). I have never set foot in one of the resorts, so seeing some sights in the resorts would be fun too.

And with the kids, casual, but not takeout-casual.

In this case, I would try Boma. It is a buffet, it is different, and the Animal Kingdom Lodge is such a cool resort.

You could also try one of the restaurants at the Grand Floridian. There is 1900 Park Fair (buffet--very large room, very loud though), the Grand Floridian Cafe which is table service and is very quaint. Then there is Citricos, which is one of my favorites. It is a "signature" restaurant. Not to stuffy though, but a really good dining experience. The resort is beautiful also.

We loved Chef Mickey's! Very casual an just plain fun, the kids loved swinging napkins over their heads! The breakfast buffet was great and the character interaction was wonderful! I mean to tell you, Krispy Kreme and Mickey in the same room! :cloud9: I was in heaven and the kids loved it too! My DH even loved it and he is not a disney crazed fan like me so that says something.

The resort hotels that are farthest from the theme parks have the least crowds: Coronado Springs, Caribbean Beach, maybe Port Orleans. Each restaurant there has something going for it. But I agree with Boma if you've never been to the hotels. You need to see AKL. And spend some time walking around the Polynesian Resort, and eat CS at Capt. Cook's. Yummy, quick, and cheap.
