My son will have just turned 10 before we leave for our fall trip. He has Autism and Sensory issues thus eating can be a big headache. We are booked through DVC. When I make a dining reservation online it just asks how many in the party. Will we be required to order as an adult for him? This will determine what we eat at lol.

If you are on the dining plan, you will be charged as an adult.

If you are paying out of pocket, I just read on another thread that he could still order off the kid's menu.

Right now we are looking into rather it would pay to book a dining plan or to pay OOP. Just him reaching 10 right before we leave and his eating habits scares me lol.

This will be our daughter's first year as an ADULT eater. There is no way it would be worth it for us to get the deluxe dining package this year. We are just getting the counter service package and maybe doing one or two sit-downs out of pocket.

Most restaurants will allow him to order from the children's menu. You can either use one of his dining credits or pay OOP since the children's offerings are much less expensive. Using an adult TS credit for a child's meal is not a good use of the credit in most cases. Instead you can save them for 2 credit dinner shows or signature restaurants.

At buffets, all you care to eat family style restaurants, CRT and dinner shows he will be charged according to his age (that is, as an adult).
