Response to football Experts (long)

Okay sweetie, first I am so terribly shocked you actually wrote all that  Why can't you talk that much to me  ;)

Too funny Elaine!!!!:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Jen, maybe because I lived on campus those years and saw all that went on and how terrible the fires and destruction to personal property was makes me more jaded about the students at OSU. They bragged about the parties and how the cops would come the following Monday in class. Those of us who lived on campus saw that the main culprits of the riots were the OSU students as sad as that can be. They did have to put rules in place that would expel and suspend studends because of their behavior. Granted a portion weren't students... and I do agree, alcohol & big fans don't mix. I know I sound so pessimistic, but when it comes to OSU, I never think the best... that way if the worst does happen I won't be as disappointed. Luis' optimism ALWAYS balances out my pessimism... we're good together for that reason :) Luis can vouch for me, I want OSU to win just as much, if not more, than most out there!

Kitty, glad that got you to laugh :teeth:

Miami is unwilling to run a run defense. Therefore if we have all three backs healthy and able to play the full game, Clarett will get over 200 yards rushing, Ross and Hall will get around (if not over) 100 yards rushing.

After watching the Pitt game last night I'm afraid I have to apologize and make an addendum to this statement.

Clarett - over 200 yards
Ross and Hall - 100 yards combined
Krenzel - 150 yards rushing. (I guess Miami doesn't know how to defend against the Quarterback Draw)

And Elaine is very passionate about the Buckeyes, she is however very pessimistic (one penalty and she thinks we will lose the game  )

But enough about Miami, First we have to beat Michigan (crosses fingers) And of course Miami has to beat Syracuse (like they will have a problem with that) and VA Tech (they will be seeking redemption after the loss to West Virginia).

BTW, I hope the two Miami players that suffered season ending injuries will be able to play next year (assuming they weren't seniors)

Excellent post Luis!! :teeth:

A few comments on all this in no particular order. . .

If the Pitt quarterback throws that last pass last night about a foot shorter, Pitt would have sent the game into OT and they had the momentum. . . and. .

. . if either Ohio State or Miami loses before the bowl games, it's going to throw the whole BCS into a huge screaming mess. . I'm personally rooting for that because I'd like to see a playoff system. . ;) :teeth:

If both Miami and OSU finish undefeated, they both deserved to play in the Fiesta bowl for the title, period. I'd make Miami a slight favorite-maybe +3 1/2 on a neutral field, and if take OSU if the spread was any higher then that. .

The only negative comments about OSU I've heard here in Oklahoma is that they won't have to play in a conference titile game like the Big 12 and SEC have- had Oklahoma and OSU and Miami finished undefeated I think that's a legit point as far as who would have deserved to play in the Fiesta Bowl, but since the Sooners lost it's a moot point now. .

When West Virginia beat Va Tech IN Virginia Weds. night, the WVU fans tore the goal posts in their own, empty stadium and rioted and burned down a bunch of stuff.. Now that's really over-doing it!! :teeth:

My prediction? OSU loses to Michigan, WSU loses to Washington, Miam loses to VaTech, and Bowling Green defeats Georgia for the National Titile. .

Trust me on this; gambling is my life. .

;)

:teeth:

Um all I can say is um yeah. :teeth:

Yes we don't play in a Title match but the reason for this is because we try to play everyone in the conference.

If we split up the conference into two then maybe we would need that.

Ohio State will play more games than most football teams (with 14 games total) though so I think it's only fair that they don't add another game.

Ahhh Elaine I hope you know I wasn't picking on you!!!:( I am just way too passionate about OSU and was teasing you a bit! I hope you will forgive me????:)

Chris and I got skrewed out of our tickets for tomorrow. The guy my mom bought the season tickets from did not send the MI tics. I am completly BUMMED! We have tailgated for every home game this year and now the big one comes and we cannot go!!

Oh well at least I will not be in the midst of any rioting!:p Besides that my bad foot could not take it and I could not run if needed too!;)

GO BUCKEYES!

P.S. Willy: I know you are a gambling man, but trust me I think the Bucks are gonna win in their house tomorrow!;)

Hey... Go Buckeyes...

BUT, you know what makes the Hurricanes great? While other teams think they can win, the Hurricanes KNOW they can.

GO HURRICANES....

:smooth:

:jester:

It'll be a great game:)

Jen, never fear, I wasn't thinking you were picking on me. As Luis said, I am a pessimistic person who is very passionate about her team and realized that here I was coming across as just pessimistic ;) What Luis didn't say is that I get so passionate that I scream and yell at the TV and storm off in a fit when a bad call is made... I have a tendency not to watch the games really at all becuase of that ;) That just stinks about your tickets though! Although I must admit I had an intersting image of you and your family trying to run from campus as quickly as you could!

Willy, you nearly made me spew my drink I had just taken a sip of. BG going all the way??? Now that makes me laugh :teeth: WVU's riots sounds like what we got weekly here  I remember after one game, they had a news story where guys took their OWN couch out of their apartment and set fire to it in the street... talk about stupidity. I can just see them explaining to their parents exactly what happened to the couch on their next visit :teeth:

Willy -- you do know that Bowling Green's lost their last two games, right?

Outside of that, the rest of your predictions might not be that far off! :teeth:

Unless the wind blew to the left at the Miami vs. FSU game

Unless the receiver was 3 inches taller at Pittsburgh. :teeth: We'll see what happens when you actually play a good team. (I'm not saying it is definitely OSU)

Nebraska doesn't count for obvious reasons.

Good luck against Ohio State or Washington State (whoever will play against you) You'll need it. And remember we already beat Washington State easily.

BG in the finals! ROTFL

All I can say about the riots at OSU is that they finally took the heat off OU. Halloween didn't look so bad then. ;)

The students don't subscribe to the local paper. They never realized it was built to not be taken down unless you own a bulldozer.
