Resorts with rooms with sofa

Hi! My DH has severe back issues (spinal fusions) and we need rooms with sofa or comfy chair. Sitting on the bed for 7 days doesn't work any longer. We typically stay at moderates and would consider renting DVC points.

What resorts do you like that has these and what room type? If DVC, any experience renting points?

Any DVC studio will have a queen bed and a sofa bed, save Old Key West. Availability will be heavily dependent on your timing.

I am not aware of any resort outside of DVC or suites that would have a very comfortable chair or sofa. CR, Poly, GF, and to an extent BWI, BC and YC will have sofas that fold down to daybeds but I do not consider them very comfortable for sitting as they are quite upright. If a firm upright sofa is what he desires any of the deluxe monorail resorts would work as all the standard rooms in those have the sofa/daybed.

We've had a king bed in both the Yacht Club and Beach Club which have had upholstered armchairs. The YC room even had an ottoman. But those rooms aren't a bookable category, so you wouldn't be guaranteed to get one of them.

Another option might be to rent a recliner for him to sleep on. Both Care Medical and Orlando Medical Rentals offer them with delivery to the resort. I believe mousekeeping can move out standard furniture if more space is needed.
