I'm sure this answer is out there somewhere but I can't find it.

If money was no object (lol), which resorts are walkable to which parks? Also, are the hotels on the monorail only worth it to go to MK? (The monorail doesn't get you anywhere else, does it?)

Thanks.

P.

BC/YC/BW/Swan/Dolphin are all very easy walks to Epcot and HS.
Contemporary and GF are easy walks to MK
Monorail also goes to Epcot via TCC
Poly/GF/Contemporary on the monorail resort loop to MK

OK this is about what I thought.

So if one wanted to stay in a deluxe to take advantage of the M/W Extended hours for deluxe resorts at MK and Epcot, it's probably worth it to Stay at the Contemporary (or poly or GF but they are sold out).

thank you!

Yes, you could walk from CR to MK for DEEH there and take the monorail to TTC and then on to Epcot for DEEH there.

That's assuming you don't want to split stay at CR for MK and at an Epcot resort for Epcot DEEH!

The CR is right next to the MK, 5 minute walk; you can ride the resort loop monorail from the CR to the TTC (the very next stop) and switch to the Epcot monorail (which delivers you to the front gate). Coming back from Epcot, you have to ride most of the resort monorail loop (TTC>Poly>GF>MK>CR).

The YC&BC and BWI are right next to the International Gateway to Epcot, 5 minute walk. But you bus to the MK.

Our favorite resorts are Poly and YC, each has its own conveniences.

I'm already splitting my stay! But you make a valid point.

We do the Epcot to DHS walk often and never found it difficult. I know there is the Skyliner but (1) it is not direct to DHS, you need to get off and change cars to continue on to DHS (2) depending on what resort you are staying in and where your room is it could be a longer walk to Skyliner before even boarding than to DHS.

I agree the walk to HS is not bad. I'm 66 years old with bad knees and a bad back and I do it every day of my trips. There is also a boat available.

Or if you have park hoppers you can walk through Epcot and take the monorail.

Currently the walkway between GF and MK is closed. I don't know how long that will be. So you would have to monorail or boat from both GF and Poly or boat from WL. CR is an easy walk to MK.

If you aren't going to spend a lot of time at MK, your best bet is going to be YC/BC, BWI or Swan and Dolphin (they get deluxe perks as well). You can walk to both Epcot and HS (or boat or if you really want to waste time take the Skyliner). You can bus or walk through Epcot for monorail to MK. You would have to bus back since Epcot would be closed. If you stay at one of the MK resorts, depending on the time of the year, you might be able to monorail back to TTC and MK from Epcot since MK stays open late in the warmer months. Otherwise you would have to bus back to your resort.

It’s a good “scenic route” but not a convenient or short trip. It’s 40-minutes minimum if they hustle through Epcot and catch both monorails waiting or in short time. But can take over an hour if they have to wait for the monorail(s).

AND you have to be sure you have the right combination of park reservations and time of day, too! It’s not a simple matter any more!

I'd say BC/YC to HS is doable, but I wouldn't call it "easy", especially when there's zero reason to do it (Skyliner takes you straight there).
It’s a straight shot incredibly easy 20-30 minute walk compared to walking to a different theme park to take a gondola to a resort in the opposite direction to get on another gondola to take you to the park you actually wanted to go to. Will never in my life understand people taking Skyliner to HS from BC/YC. If you can’t walk it the boat dock is right there.

I believe the question, based on "If money was no object", was which resorts are closest in walking distance with the goal of spending what was necessary to make the walk as short as possible, otherwise, why would you not care how much it costs?

A half hour walk in and of itself isn't "difficult", but clearly the OP was looking for as short a walk as possible, hence the comment regarding money being no object. Otherwise, skip BC/YC (because first of all you'd be walking PAST several resorts that are closer to HS) and just stay at the Swolphin. Particularly if they are looking to avoid a long walk in August or September.

Not necessarily. There could have been other reasons the OP wanted to minimize transportation.

All the OP asked (originally without context) was ..

If money was no object (lol), which resorts are walkable to which parks?

And the simple answer is the YC&BC, BWI, and S&D are walkable to Epcot and DHS. And often, walking can be as fast or faster to walk than the Skyliner or Friendship Boats.

Now we know they want easiest access to EEH in MK and Epcot (and the Poly is booked full)...and the answer is CR, IMO.

So for DHS and Epcot, the walkable properties are BC, YC, Boardwalk, Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve. These are all epcot area resorts and the SR would be the closest to DHS and the BC would be closest to Epcot with varying degrees in between based on your location within the resort. There is also a boat to the parks and other resorts on crescent lake which is really convenient.

For MK, GF, Poly and CR are all walkable but CR is the closest walk, about 5 minutes depending on where your room is located at CR. Poly and GF are a longer walk away, almost a mile from GF and a little over a mile to Poly from MK. The monorail can also get you to Epcot but the monorail ride can be long, sometimes up to 30/40 min from the resorts.
