Resorts through Expedia???Help me please

Hi,
I've been posting trying to get the CO for certain dates in July through CRO. No Luck. They are booked I can only get rack rate on those days and so on... Well I just tried through Expedia and
there it is the Contemporary the exact days I need at a great price!! Have any of you used Expedia is it legit???? And will CRO
cancel my ressie to POFQ and transfer my deposit to my other resort stays. I am staying at AKL Savannah after the Contemporary. I am nervous since I have only dealt with CRO in the past. Thanks ahead of time for your responses:)
 
I don't know about the deposit question. I think you would have to cancel your res with CRO and get your deposit back.

However, I used Expedia last Dec. and it's no different that booking through CRO except I think the confirmation # is different. In other words, any changes/requests need to be done through Expedia, not CRO because they won' t have your Expedia #.

They are legit and easy to use. Easy to cancel too, don't have to hassle with anyone, just do it online. I would recommend using them if you can get a good rate. You also may want to check the Disney online quote service. Here's the link for the same summer rates that Expedia is using but through Disney

The only difference I notice is tha the cancellation date for Expedia states 5 days prior, whereas the Disney states 46 days prior to stay! ??
 
Before you cancel with CRO. Book with Expedia.

Expedia shows the availability but sometimes when you try to reserve it it tells you that the rate is not available.
 
We have been trying to get into the Contemporary wing room since last September, but with no luck. Found the 134.00 rate on Expedia yesterday and got all the way through the booking til the very end where it comes up with a message that it cannot book the request at this time. Called their help line and was told first to try againin 30 minutes then I called back and told them I had the same problem, this time they said to try again in an hour. Still no luck, called and spoke with someone and they said that she could book it but it was a couple of hundred dollars more than the site showed. Said this was because Disney was changing the rates they could offer (?). Was able to book the 2nd half of our trip at the WL though at a great rate through expedia. Called CRO and sure enough we show up in there system as us being booked at the WL! I have emailed expedia with the Contemporary problem, because each time you try to book you get an itinerary # you can email them with. I should hear back from expedia tonight on wether or not they will be able to book the Contemporary for us. I hope so but if not the WL was a great deal. I haven't done the complete booking because I was nervous that it maybe would be overbooked but it seems like I will probably get the error message as well. I wont cancel with CRO until I have this confirmed IF I can even get it. I also put in a ressie request with DU who knows maybe they will have better luck??

I tried to book a stay at the Polynesian using Expedia last year. They had a "promo rate" listed for Gardenview Concierge for an outrageously low price. Everytime I went through the process I got the same message you did about not being able to fill the request at that time. I plugged in many different dates and still had no luck with booking. I spoke with 4 different people at Expedia, including a supervisor, who could not explain why I was unable to secure a reservation online. First they asked me to call Disney to make sure that there weren't any "special events" going on during the dates I had tried (there weren't any). Then they told me that Disney had probably not updated their prices on Expedia's site. Long story short, there was no "promo rate" (these rates were also listed for YC and BC and Contemporary). According to Disney, Expedia has no special "promo rates," and all they can legally offer are the same rates that Disney offers through their reservation system. As a result of my calls and constant hounding, Expedia was forced to remove the bogus "promo rates" for the selected Disney resorts on their site. Despite that experience, I have used Expedia to book rooms in Washington, DC and NYC in the past without any problems and have gotten great rates. It is very convenient to book online. Just keep in mind that if you see a price for a Disney resort that seems too good to be true, it probably is....
