Good Morning,

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for resorts that allow dogs? If we make the trip next March we are coming from Unalaska/Dutch Harbor, AK and we plan to travel for at least 3 weeks. We don't have a kennel here and I don't have anyone that I trust with my dogs for 3 weeks. So I was hoping to be able to bring our dogs with us.

Thanks in advance.

Jen

There is a 'sticky' at the top of the forum that has lots of good info. There is a 'Best Friends' kennel at WDW. Universal resorts are pet friendly. Several offsite resorts are pet friendly.

It used to be called Extended Stay Deluxe now called Extended Stay America I HIGHLY recommend the one on Palm Parkway very near DTD In fact I'm looking at booking there first week Sept VERY dog(s) friendly :goodvibes

Extended Stay America - Orlando - Lake Buena Vista
All Rooms Newly Renovated *DISNEY PACKAGES AVAILABLE*
8100 Palm Pkwy.,Orlando, FL 32836

Pet Policy
Pets are always welcome guests at Extended Stay America. A maximum of two pets are allowed in each guest room. A $25 (+ tax) per day, per pet non-refundable cleaning fee (not to exceed $150 + tax per pet) will be charged the first night of your stay. Weight, size and breed restrictions may apply. Please contact the hotel directly with inquiries.

What would you do with them when you're at the parks? Most hotels have strict policies about how long they can be in the room without the owners. That could be really stressful for the dogs not to mention other guests. I have heard wonderful things about the onsite boarding kennel. They do a good job with the dogs and you can visit anytime.

What would you do with a dog ? Well mine had no problem being crated right there in the resort you just let them know so no housekeeping He never had a problem in new circumstances and was quiet I only had a crate with me in case a resort said I needed to have one ( We frequently drove from NY )

The one I mentioned is very close to property Go back during day and walk spend time with him

I can't give an opinion on the Best Friends kennel I haven't used a kennel at WDW since they had their own at each park

We travel with our dog on vacation.

For Disney World we stay at Residence Inn in Lake Buena Vista which is pretty close to Disney. This resort is very close to the Extended Stay resort mentioned in the previous post. At Residence Inn there is a flat charge usually between $75 and $100 depending on peak season or not.

The Residence Inn offers a fabulous included breakfast. There are three times a week they offer an evening reception which gives you a quick service meal and includes beer and wine for free. This resort offers apartment style living with a full kitchen, living room and studio, 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom suites. The 2 bedroom has 2 bathrooms. You can have up to four beds in the 2 bedroom.

We would split our time at Disney and come back to be with the dog for a while. We crated our dog.

If you want to stay on Disney property you can go to the Best Friends kennel. You can visit the kennel and use a trail way area they have there to walk and be with your dog. There are dog rooms you can get for the dogs there were they can be together. It is is a little pricey here to board your dogs.

I would kennel the dogs or rent a house ..not fair to crate them hours on end in a strange hotel.
