Resorts, Relatives & Restaurants - and a 3 day cruise!

First of all, Happy 9th Birthday Sarah!!!

Great update Sheree!! What a wonderful day you had, just wandering and taking in the gorgeous sites. I remember Dec 12th well; it was the day we had to come home. Boo. :( The girls' braids turned out really cute and how cheap $1 is. The kids and I would have LOVED to see the Flying Dutchman! How super cool!

Happy 9th Birthday, Sarah! Hope you have a wonderful day!

(Tell your momma to take you to WDW lots in the next year before you become an "adult" in Disney's eyes. ;))

The cruise sounds wonderful Sheree!! A beach sounds really nice on a dreary day like today... Thanks for writing about all the details of everything, I would love to take a cruise but DH does not, but the more I know about them the more I can slowly convince him that we should try one!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH!!!:goodvibes

Happy Birthday Sarah!!!

Your pictures are making me search in earnest for a time and cruise that I can afford!!

I guess I am an oddball because I enjoyed A Christmas Carol. My DD 7 was a bit scared and my DS didn't really get it though.

I am kind of sad there isn't a special pirates menu for Pirates' Night now. :( The reunion cake looks delicious though!!!

The original story of A Christmas Carol is pretty dark -- in fact, Charles Dickens' advertised it as a "ghost story," so I am not really surprised to hear that the new version is dark as well. Your experience made me glad we had skipped it. :goodvibes

Fireworks at sea would be so cool!!!

Castaway Cay is so neat! I loved looking at all the pictures you took! You are right -- those Christmas decorations are great! I can't get over how expensive your drink was though -- $10 seems so high to me!

they do still offer the pirate menu as far as I know, just not on the 3 day cruises. I think it's only on 4 days or more.

OK, took me all night and this morning to catch up... and it was sooooo worth it. Tons of holiday goodness, wonderful resort photos and a cruise to top it all off (with more to come). One word... wait for it... wait for it... Awesome!

I'm still here! :yay: Sorry I got behind a bit, but am all caught up now. Castaway Cay looks so awesome! :goodvibes Can't wait to get there one day soon! Great updates, thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks for the b-day wishes. I still have to show them all to her. The braids were fun and they kept them in a long time!

Yeah, one more trip for sure. Then I know we're not doing the dining plan after she's 10. She doesn't eat enough variety or volume!
.
Wow Castaway Cay looks lovely! Too funny your girls are in bathing suits surrounded by Christmas decorations.
CC was beautiful! It was a bit ironic! One year we did a bunch of pictures to use for Christmas cards and DH had them in their swimsuits and sunglasses in front of the tree. It was funny!

Thank you! I could use a beach about now too! Maybe your DH should read some cruise TRs!

I hope you can find a cruise! It's a lot of fun. I can see the younger kids not enjoying A Christmas Carol for sure. Some of it is a little "deep" for them to understand.

Aah, that would explain it! Guess I'll have to go back to the 4 day!

Thank you! I'm so glad you caught up, but I hope you got some sleep!

Castaway Cay looks like a blast! Again, I'm excited!

I hope Sarah had a fun filled birthday yesterday!
Can't wait to see pictures!
It's a really cool place - very magical and beautiful!
Sarah had a good day - busy! I'll try to remember to get pictures uploaded this week (for sure by the time you get back from your trip!)

Hey Shelly!! CC is awesome! I hope you get to see it someday too. I love it! I'd be happy to just go there for a couple days on a vacation!

Love all of the nautical holiday decorations on CC! So cute!!
I had one of those Konked outs:rolleyes1 well that is how I felt anyway!!
When we were at CC we did some type of package where we had 2 floats, a bike to rent, snorkel gear and the stingray excursion. Let me just say I could have passed on the bike ride....this was in August when it was about 150 degrees out :rotfl2: Thankfully there were water jugs strategically placed on the bike paths or else I would have been seriously konked out! :rotfl2: We had fun snorkeling too and searching for the Mickey under the water (we found him ;)) What a great time!! :goodvibes

Hey there! I got really far behind! Life has been busy and it is so hard to catch up even when you just miss a few days! :headache:

I am DROOLING over your CC pictures! It is so gorgeous! I think I would become a stowaway and never come home!;)

Your $10 coconut drink sounds reasonable compared to the prices we saw at Disney on Ice. A bag of cotton candy was $12!!!!!!!!! $12 for sweetened puffed air!!!!!!!!!! So $10 for a drink in a coconut on a tropical island is pretty cheap!

I love all the Christmas decos on the island. They really went all out! I wouldn't expect them to put up decoration outdoors on the beach like that.

Your girls were so cute with their little island braids! I love it! And only $1 each is very surprising!!!

All your food looked really good too! You are really making me want to book a cruise BAD!!!

DH and I went on a Norwegian cruise 7 years ago and we got drinks in a coconut looking thing and they were $10 each back then. But we brought home the coconuts for my kids. I still have on around somewhere.

Castaway Cay does looks amazing. Relaxing with alot of Disney touches!
I always wanted my hair braided like that as a kid! I know my dd would like it too, except for the hair pulling. What is it with girls and brushing the hair?

I would have needed the water too! It was not hot when we've been either time. This time we did rent raft/floats for the girls - at least we got to go in the water!

I thought it was cool that they did all that on CC too. The drinks - well, it's Disney pricing. The alcoholic version was fairly strong too.

The braids were awesome. They didn't want their whole head or even the front done- just a few. I think it was because they were too afraid of the pulling.

My kids sure think it's fun to drink out of the coconut cups! I don't think I'd need to get them next time!

Disney sure knows what it's doing, don't they?
I never went anywhere tropical when I was a kid - I never knew you could get it done! That's the only time I ever had hair long enough. I was so sheltered! LOL!

Sorry, no update. I just wanted to let you all know that I'm still here - alive after the slumber party! Sarah had three friends over, and they were up til about 1. I was not! Plus we lost an hour last night, so I'm wiped! Too bad it's super nice outside! DH is out taking down the Christmas lights off the house and tree. (No, we haven't had them lit since New Year's).

We were supposed to go see Mamma Mia tonight, but DD6 is sick. Might have been all the partying, but she has a bunch of stomach troubles. So she's napping now, and looks like I'll have to keep her home tomorrow. Which means, I'll probably have time for an update!
I'll have to try to remember what we did on the last night and next morning (besides leave for home!). :(

Stay tuned!

Hope your DD6 feels better soon!

Slumber parties always leave me feeling completely drained. It takes me a couple of days to recover from them.

Oh Darn! :sad1: I am so sorry that Paige is not feeling well! I am also very sorry to hear that you were not able to go see Mamma Mia! :sad2: I was really looking forward to hearing about it from you! If we lived closer, I would have gladly taken those tickets for you! ;) I hope that you will be able to use them for something else!? Hope Paigey feels better soon! Hopefully in time for her b-day! princess: We have our "March Break" this week so my girls will be home ALL WEEK!!!

Yeah, Paige has a knack for getting sick at bad times. Often when we're on vacation, she would get something - usually fever. Then she missed a class trip to the zoo last spring, she missed a DISmeet with Kim's family too! Well, in fairness, they were both sick that day.
She slept well and late, so she and I are hanging out today. She just ate some apple, so we'll see how that goes. She's asking for peanut butter toast and wants chicken noodle soup for lunch. So at least she's getting her appetite back. Yesterday she did not ask for food all day. I was kind of glad to stay home today too. I slept until 7 (which is late for me!) It felt good!
I stayed up too late last night watching a local news show about Minnesotans with ties to DISNEY!!!! I recorded it because I was not sure I could stay awake. I have to watch again. But basically here's something I found out. The guy behind Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex is from Minnesota. I think I knew that about RFC since we have one here at the Mall of America. I kind of remember more, but I was pretty sleepy, so I will post more accurate info later after I watch again.

Sorry to hear about your daughter getting sick. Glad to hear she's getting better already. My oldest also also has a knack of getting sick during travel or big events. Kids, make life more interesting. :)
