Resorts darker at night?

We just returned from a wonderful 5 night trip with a split stay of SOG and AKV. We had a great time at both resorts! I have one question, and I posted on the resort board, but did not get any comments on it. We went to WL for dinner one night. As we were leaving on the boat to go back to MK, both my DH and I commented that the lodge looked so dark from a distance. Very few outside lights were on. I remember before being able to see the "bears face" in the windows. It was so dark, we could barley make out where the upper windows even were! Then as we headed over by GF, it was so dark there also! The only lights at GF were the ones from occupied rooms and the lights on top of the restaurant down by the water! The resort was barely even visible in the dark. Is it may imagination or were the resort really light up bright at night before?

Energy prices? The parks have seemed darker at night the last year or so, too.

When we were at the BWV in February my DH and I noticed the same thing, I know AKV is dark in the villa due to theme and animal habitat but even the lightbulbs in our villa at BW were a lower wattage I am sure it it their energy conservation you know similar to the water conservation with Saratoga and OKW not gettin "real" glasses  Its amazing how styrofoam is now good for the enviorment ;) .

It seems that Disney is reducing electrical usage across property. We have notice the increased use of low wattage compact fluorescents.

In the villas the lighting is getting really bad. Many have posted that they bring their own light bulbs to use during their stay. My DW has complained that the kitchen area is so poorly lighted, it's difficult to prepare meals. Do you think that it's Disney's way to get us to eat out more? :thumbsup2

hey that may be the reason.

generally the low wattage compact that I use are brighter - you have to leave them on a while - but they get brighter - okay the ones that I use do.

lights make a big different - just changing mind to fluorescents has saved me money.

for outside lights you can only get the fluorescents - believe me I have looked. somone claimed (at Lowes I think) that your must use fluorescents for outside lighting.

looked at Walmart, Lowes, Martin, home depot, sears, kmart, general dollar, top dollar.
