So, we recently bought AP's that will allow us to make a lot of short trips to disney. we're going on memorial day weekend and I know the crowds will be there! I know that when you stay at a disney resort, and the parks are at capacity, you're still good to get in.

My problem is this - does this apply if you book the resort through expedia or travelocity. even with my AP, the value rooms are 20 bucks more a night through disney compared to travelocity. And, honestly, that x 3 nights is a table service dinner. Do any of you know the answer?

I believe that it does not matter how you book your room at a Disney resort, you are still considered a disney resort guest.

Just so you know there are varied levels of closure

Phase 1
Guests with 'Magic Your Way' base tickets, or a '1-Day 1-Park Ticket', Guests without an admission ticket, and Cast Members using Main Gate & Silver Passes will be turned around at the parking lot booths.

Phase 2
Admission is limited to:

Disney Resort Guests (including the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, and guests arriving by bus from the Hotel Plaza Boulevard hotels)
Annual and Premium Annual Passholders
Guests with Hopper tickets coming from another park
Guests re-entering the park
Guests with dining reservations
Magic Kingdom Guests with reservations for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or The Pirates League
Guests using Walt Disney World Resort Transportation will be admitted.

Phase 3
Admission is limited to:

Disney Resort Guests (including the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, and guests arriving by bus from the Hotel Plaza Boulevard hotels)
Annual and Premium Annual Passholders
Guests with dining reservations
Magic Kingdom Guests with reservations for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or The Pirates League

Phase 4
Closed to all guests.

As you can see- Annual Passholders and Disney resort guests in the same "tier" of closure, so it really does not matter if there is a difference booking between Travelocity and Disney.

Thank you! I didn't know that the AP gets me the same entry guarantee that staying at a resort does. Now, I just need to evaluate if the transportation system is worth the extra money of staying on site. plus, the extra magic of course.

We have been the week of Memorial Day ( getting there the saturday before ) for the past 7 years and I don't ever recall the parks being at capacity . My only suggestion would be to stay away from mk on Monday . Other than that we had a wonderful time !

I've gone for Memorial Day weekend, Labor Day weekend, July 4th, and Thanksgiving. No parks were even close to getting to a level where even the first closure was necessary.

Easter and Christmas/New Year's yes. The others, no.

hoping July 4th will be fine and uncrowded. (yea like that is going to happen):cool1::rotfl2::rotfl:

it is on Thursday so though it would be okay - now someone say that some schools(colleges) close when it is on Thursday as well as Friday. so that makes a 4-day weekend.

We were there July 4th last year and going back this year. It wasn't anything near as bad as NYE for example. That was crazy!
