We are taking the kids back to WDW this year (ds - 10 and dd - 6). They both love to swim, so consequently we end up spending part of each day at the resort (would prefer a fun slide too). They also seem to prefer Epcot over MK, so we'd like to stay somewhere close to there (or at least easy to get to). We've never really done the water parks before, but maybe that's something to consider too (we'll be going at the end of March). Any helpful ideas? Can I get something nice, with a pool and fun slide, close to Epcot, for $200 a night or less? I'd love to hear your preferences and why! Thanks in advance!

Yacht and Beach club for sure, in feb I was quoted a ratef of $204/night with AP! If thats too pricey, check out coronado springs, they also have an excellent pool!

Boardwalk Inn has the longest water slide of any Disney Resort at 200 ft. It's in the shape of a rollercoaster and you come out of the mouth of a clown. If you prefer big slides this is better than SAB. If you like big pools with variety then SAB is your best choice.

BC has the best pool. You can check out the pictures at www.allearsnet.com. Your problem is going to be getting a room there or even at the BWI for less than $200. The $204 AP rate was for Feb, which is value season, and March is peak season. Mousesavers is listing the March AP rate at $271, and I'd call soon because they seem to run out of AP rates. Swan/Dolphin might have discount rates available during Easter Week since there probably won't be any conventions then. Swan/Dolphin has a cool grotto pool with a big slide.

Definitely a NO BRAINER. Best pool on property: Storm Along Bay at the Beach and Yacht Club!

The Boardwalk slide is long, but kind of flat. The mouth of the clown seems to scare some kids, too!

Actually, the longest and best slide in WDW can be found at CSR, which isn't too far from Epcot, but of course, not within walking distance.

Just one clarification. The slide at BWI is 200 ft. long and I'm not sure what is meant by flat as it has 2 complete circles while you are going down, the one at CSR is 160 ft. long, so BWI is the longest.

You should check the pictures at allearsnet so you can decide which you like best. Another long one is the slide at the Volcano pool at Poly. That from what I've seen (haven't been there) it goes INSIDE the volcano and it measures 120 ft. There was a post here in the last week or so that had a link to tikiman where they have several pictures of this pool.

More data points for your decision.

Bottom line is that at any of these resorts your children would have a lot of fun. at their pools My daughter loved the one at POR more than CSR even though it's shorter because the slide has more twists and turns, the one at CSR is more straight overall.

Good luck
Eric
