Resort upgrade pin ?

I just recieved an email offering my familiy a free upgrade from our resort to a DVC stay at either Saratoga Springs or Old Key West....has anyone else received this? Is there a catch?

Pop Century under a promo...so you can see why I am a bit leery...this would be a HUGE upgrade for us. It is exciting but I don't want to lose our gift card.

No catch-whichever resort you are booked at is probably pretty full so they are looking to move people. We did this one year and stayed at the Old Key West and ended up getting upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite for free. It was great! I really liked the OKW and would stay there again if I was offered an upgrade from a value. What are your dates and resort?

I can't see why you would lose your gift card-did you call and ask about it? If you are even thinking about it, you should do it soon. The rooms sell out quickly when they offer the free upgrade.

Calling now...we are going 05/31-06/05 they offered Old Key West and Saratoga Springs.

Hope this isn't a fluke...just called and the cm said that another person just called about this pin and apparently it is not loaded into the system yet since it just came out and the pin is not being recognized. She advised me to try again later.

Figures...I get excited over something and now may not get to take advantage of it.

I would keep calling back about every hour. I'll bet they'll sell out quickly since it's Memorial Day. We got ours for Labor Day weekend a few years ago and called the same day. Our friends who were going at the same time waited a day and weren't so lucky. They wasted too much time deciding if they wanted to do it or not.

I got it!! We are staying at Old Key West in a 1 bedroom villa! We get to keep the original promo/gift card that we had with the original ressie.

No catch, we don't have to listen to a sales pitch or anything like that, the cm said that they were trying to free up rooms at POP. I'll bet this has something to do with the refurb going on at POP...I hear that it is more slow going than they thought.

I am so excited! We could never afford to stay at OKW so this is big for us.

Yes we will have a full kitchen! We will be able to bring breakfast items, drinks, snacks and even pick up food to cook if we like.

Always nice when these things drop into your lap. We were booked into AKL a few years ago when they were doing construction and they called to ask us to move because the work was delayed. They offered to move us to any resort we wanted so naturally we chose the Grand Floridian. Talk about an upgrade.

Congrats. We had something similar in 2007. We were upgraded from AsMU to SSR. We were told the same thing...trying to free up rooms at the value resorts. Have fun!!
