As most of you may know, the "Zip a dee do dah, tip for today" channel at WDW resorts is channel 18. We absolutely love this channel and watch it continuously when in our room. (I hope that I am not alone!):p On our past trip we had noticed that the familiar tip for today song and WDW tour on that channel has been replaced by a "top 7 things not to miss at WDW" including a new M:S segment. So my question is, does anyone know if this is a permanent replacement for tip for today or did they put this on for the recent press event?

I feel kinda bummed about this because I really look forward to getting my "tip" and watching my WDW tour.
I also noticed that the "top 7 things...." is not as good as "tip", IMHO
or maybe I just need to get used to it....
or maybe I am crazy for posting this......

Just wondering if anyone can give me any info or similar concerns?

I love watching those in-room Disney channels!! I love the tip of the day, and I know I heard it two weeks ago at CBR when I was there. Watching that channel gets me excited about my trip, and also makes me realize I really made it to WDW! I also love watching the "schedule" channel (I think channel 19) - the one that looks like a computer screen, showing all the times and park hours. I just love the music they play - all instrumentals. :)

Glad to know I am not the only one who loves those channels. When I was at AKL in May, they even had a channel of all older Disney short cartoons, like Lambert and the Brave Little Tailor. Pretty cool!

Well, I have to admit that I am another one. As if being in the parks all day and staying in a Disney hotel isn't enough magic exposure.............I like to watch these channels while in the room. I too really liked the tip for today thing. I hope it comes back. Anything that you ONLY watch in WDW is special. Oh, I wish I were there right now! 76 more days! Karen

My mom and I like the music so much that she taped some of it with her video camera and put some of the music on the end of our vacation video.

Another question - Anyone know if you get these same channels at the Swan and Dolphin?

LOL, glad Im not alone. On 1 trip I taped almost the whole tour and I did the same on the Disney Cruise(their little tour channel).

As for the S/D, I cant speak from experience, but when I asked that question here I was told yes, they do have the "Tip for Today" channel. And yes, that was one of my worries when thinking about booking the Swan, LOL!

I have a lot of friends, and they know I love Disney World. But they would all think I was a nut if they knew that things like what they show on the tv at Disney World are important to me  .

The first thing I do when we check into our room, is go straight to the TV and turn on the "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah...Tip for Today". I hope the heck they haven't gotten rid of it.

Now that song is going to be in my head all afternoon.

I am SO glad to know there are others like us! We turn the TV on as soon as we walk in the room. Can't wait to get there and hopefully hear that song! :wave2:

:teeth:

Well, I am another one to add to the list, after I take a good look of the room and check out my view, to the TV I go to get my ZIP-A-DEE-DOO-DAH-TIP FOR TODAY! :)

I LOVE WATCHING THAT and then fall asleep to it...aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh.....Im so ready........:)

Oh no....they better not have gotten rid of the Zip-a-dee-doo-dah tip for today station. I love listening to that song!!! Just thinking about it gives me that "Disney feeling." Hopefully it is still there - any recent visitors have any info on this?

We brought our VCR on our last trip and we made a tape of that channel. My 4 year old likes to pop it in the VCR every now and then and feel some Disney magic.
