We have a dinner reservation at Artist Point in Wilderness Lodge. Getting there won't be a problem, since we'll most likely be coming from a park. But what is the best way to get back to the Boardwalk? Obviously, it's a two-bus trip. Do I use Downtown Disney as the transfer point or one of the parks? (we're going in October, when parks close earlier, but we should still be finished in time to use a park as a transfer point).

Or do I save the headache and take a cab?

You have three options:

1. Take a cap. This is the easiest.
2. Take boat or bus from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom. Then get on the bus to Boardwalk.
3. Take bus to Epcot and walk to Boardwalk.

Boat to MK, then bus to BW.

Or bus to DHS, then boat or walk to BW.

If one or the other of those parks is closed, the choice is pretty clear. If both are closed then it's a little trickier. Using Epcot only is an option if you have tickets that you can use to go through the park (APs, hoppers or base MYW tix that were used at Epcot that day). AK usually closes the earliest and is too far away to be a decent transfer point.

DHS is an option if all the parks are closed, but I recommend it only if there are no other options. It's fine if you don't mind it taking a while.

A cab would be faster and I would consider it if the MK and DHS options aren't available.

I think you meant DTD?

I'm sure she meant DTD and that's what I figured, that DTD was the slowest option.

Thanks all for confirming what I pretty much figured my choices were.

This would require an admission to Epcot.

Bus to DHS would be better.

Admission is not an issue, since I have an AP. Actually I like this option the best, since I only need take one bus and we can walk off dinner through EPCOT at night.
