We are staying at Port Orleans - Riverside and I want to make breakfast reservations at Boma for 7:30am. We are completely relying on Disney transportation for this trip. Will there be bus service from my resort to Boma at this early hour??

The park buses normally start running around 6:30am, and you'll have to take a bus to a park and then take the AKL bus from the park to AKL (Jambo House). It could be tricky that early in the morning.

I'd suggest taking a cab, which should only be in the $20 range. Not sure if they'll be outside that early in the morning, but you can ask concierge the night before to have one ready for you around 6:45-7am.

If you must do the buses, I'd still talk to concierge the night before and see what they can do for you (e.g. giving you the actual time the buses will start, etc).

The Disney bus system is designed to get people from their resort to a park and back again, it is very efficient at doing this.
Getting from one resort to another is not as easy, but is doable, it involves going to a park on your resort's bus, getting off the bus and walking over to your destination resort's bus stop and taking a bus returning to that resort.
Since buses can be 20 min.s apart, you need to factor in waiting for 2 buses, plus the load/unload/ride time to the park and the resort. The Disney site says to allow 90 minutes to get from A to B on Disney transportation for ADRs - this is way longer than you usually need to budget time wise, but 90 minutes would mean leaving POR at 6 am for a 7:30 ADR - which is before the buses start running.
BTW, I've only taken a taxi to AKL one time (2010) and it was from the CR, but it was over $35 w/out tip. Not sure how far POR is from AKL. I mention this because I only had $30 in cash on me @ the time and relying on the Disboards wisdom of $20 typical taxi fare thought that would cover it - wrong.

Hmm, odd. For the OP, I'd budget in that general area then, since POR is basically on the opposite side of the property.

I was going based off of the cab I took from CSR (nearish to AKL) to BWI (not too far from POR) which was under $20 before tip, but I'd definitely aim higher rather than lower. I'm sure they take credit cards too if you don't have the actual cash. At least, I'd assume so, since the local one here does for much smaller fares, if the Orlando one didn't, that'd be a huge poor management thing. (How safe it is, is always a gamble though).

Another thing to consider is that in the morning hours, buses are designed to get guests *to* the parks, not *from* the parks. At that hour, many (if not most) buses will drop guests off at the parks, but not pick up. That's largely because they may not yet know where they're headed next when they pull into the park.

So in the morning, a park is *not* a good plan as a transfer point for resort-to-resort transportation.

This is definitely a case where a cab is going to be your best option.
