resort / tickets purchase question

I hope this is the place to ask this question...We are staying at SSR in October, and I was thinking of waiting until we got there to purchase our park passes (we rented points from a DVC member). Am I correct thinking that I can purchase our 5 day park passes at SSR and that they will put our pass on our room keys? I just like the idea of having the key for everything - and not having to keep up with it, our tickets, etc. Thanks!

Your assumption is correct. You can purchase park passes at SSR and they will be encoded in your room "keys".

I think it is a bit cheaper if you do it in advance. You used to be able to call and have the tickets put into your "package" and then the room key / park pass would be given to you when you check in.

I have had an AP for a long time so I hope this isn't outdated info, but it is worth checking into to save a few bucks.

You can definitely do this. It you want to save a little money and don't mind the extra effort, order them online before your trip. We have used Maple leaf tickets and Undercovertourist.

I know I am silly about the key, but I will be keeping up with my DS (2) and my mother with Alzheimer's. Sure, my dad and DH will be there...but they are little help! No, they wouldn't be able to put them on your room key unfortunately. You would have to hold them separately. You could try something like a business card holder and collect them once you enter the parks. I have done for younger nieces and nephews and it did make it easier. Good luck with whatever you chose and have fun!!

If you can't put your paper tickets on your room keys, then that is a recent change. Disney has always allowed you to transfer your paper tickets to your room keys IF you have not used the tickets. If you have previously validated or used your paper tickets then you cannot transfer them to your room key which means do not stop at a park and use your paper tickets b/4 checking in to your resort.

Hi,

I was at Disney in June, and the concierge desk at the resort (Boardwalk Villas), added our paper tickets on to our room keys without any issues.

They will even add them to your room keys if you've already used them at the parks. The only issue then is making sure the tickets match the room keys (ie, the person who used the ticket has to make sure their ticket goes on their room key).
