We are headed to the world on Monday and we're going to try to stay all day. This means a break mid-day for us so we'd like to eat at a table service restaurant for lunch. We want it to be a resort restaurant so we can hang out there after our meal.

For RESORT table service restaurants, what do you recommend for lunch?

We've tried Kona for lunch and liked it, but would like to try something new. We have a car, so any location is possible. Please no recommendations for in-park meals, we really want to eat lunch at a resort.

Thanks!

I really like Kona, the Wave, GF Cafe, and Sanaa.

Kona and GF Cafe. You might also like Whispering Canyon Cafe over at WL, just a short boatride away.

I would also suggest Turf Club at Saratoga Springs, Olivia's at Old Key West and the Captain's Grille at Yacht Club. Oh, and Wolfgang Puck Cafe, if you park near Disney Quest, its a short walk. Its not crowded at lunch which is nice and we really enjoy it (and its counter service counterpart).

From EPCOT, maybe ESPN Club at BWI? It's never that crowded at lunch time (unless football is on) and BWI is a fun place to spend an afternoon.

Hi OP. First, we enjoy Kona for lunch too! But if you're looking for something different and you have a car, I'd highly recommend Sanaa. We were just there for lunch on Monday and it was great. The food was both interesting and delicious, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and theming, and our pre-schooler loved the "opening" drums/song at 11:30am and the view of the animals from our table near the window. Great resort TS lunch!

Sanaa at AKL, grand floridian cafe, or if you want something a bit more "posh" then I would go to downtown disney and go to fultons crab house! I know downtown disney isnt' a resort but you can still relax there, its not busy in the day.

We did Whispering Canyon once during lunch, took the boat launch from mk which was nice, it wasn't crowded and very relaxing with plenty to eat. I have also done Boma at akl. It was nice because you could go look at the safari after eating. I would choose a resort near the park you are attending and leave the driving to Disney, less stress than parking and driving.

recommend Grand Floridian Cafe also. A couple of other somewhat overlooked places are Olivia's in Old Key West and Turf Club at Saratoga Springs. Of those I would probably choose Olivia's.

I enjoyed lunch at Captains Grille at the Yacht club , I also loved Kona but you have already done that, just thinking about it makes me want a Kona Cone now!

Sanaa! The resort was so beautiful, the food was excellent, and it is the first time I got to see animals while I was dining! They were so close! It was amazing!

Update: We went to Sanaa and it is a beautiful restaurant. We ordered the bread platter for an appetizer and then tandoori chicken and tandoori shrimp.

The appetizer was delicious, but we were underwhelmed w/ the entrees. Since the breads were so good, we figured we must have chosen the wrong entrees and we would like to try Sanaa again.

Also their bar was really nice and they have wine flights starting at $15, so we may also go back for those.

TIA!

Hi again! I almost never order an entree at lunch or dinner - I love soups, salads and appetizers, so the only time I order an entree is if I'm sharing with our oldest son. This is one of the reasons we abandoned the dining plan a while ago.

So at Sanaa, lunch was the bread service (would definitely order all Naan next time) with three sauces. I remember one was a mango chutney, one contained cucumber and one was a darker brown sauce. All were excellent! Then I ordered the salad sampler - the watermelon salad was my favorite, but I also enjoyed the beet salad and the chickpea salad. One of the reasons I love Sanaa so much is that the menu fits my no-entree ordering style!

My husband always orders soup, salad or appetizer and an entree, and he entirely agrees with your assessment of Sanaa - appetizers great, entree just OK. (I won't go into detail about the kiddie menu orders, and just focus on the regular menu!)

We will definitely return and I'll order just like I did the last time. The bread service along with the salad sampler was a perfect-sized lunch and it was fun to try little bits of so many different things!
