Resort switching and refillable mugs?

We are planning on switching resorts 3 times on our 12 night trip in June (4 nights CR/3 nights CSR/ 5 nights AKL). We have 4 kids and usually buy 6 refillable mugs. What is the official word on using them at other resorts on the same trip? We would never bring our previously purchased POFQ or CBR mugs back to Disney but if we purchase 6 mugs on day 1 can we use them all 11 days? Here's hoping we can as $240 would be a bit much and we certainly don't need 18 mugs (as cute as they are). Thanks for any help or direction as to who to call to ask this question at Disney!

You will get many differing opinions on this. Many people believe you can only use the mugs while staying at that resort during that visit. Some people use their mugs over again if they stay at the same resort. We have used both "Dixie Landings" and AKL mugs on more than one trip while staying at that hotel. I am sure you can't buy mugs at your first resort and expect to use them for the entire trip.
If I were you, I would figure how many you need and share 1 or 2 at each resort, rather than buy one for all at each hotel.

Personally, I wouldn't use a CR mug at CSR, or a CSR mug at AKL. But that's just me.

I would ask Disney this question, after all, it never hurts. Maybe they would exchange the mugs at each new resort, if you could provide proof that you purchased them this time around?

We had a split stay ASMU/CR July '01....we did MK on the day we switched and didn't arrive 'till 10:30 p.m. to grab a bite at CR food court. I told the kids to get a refillable mug with their food, but all of us being groggy, they grabbed their ASMU ones. The manager was working the register and said, "Did you enjoy your stay at ASMU?" The kids said yes, but we're excited about the monrail. He then gave them each a new CR mug and said..this one matches the monrail...free of charge! We offered to pay but he said certainly not! Enjoy your stay with us at CR!

On our recent trip...we stayed at the AKL and WL....we purchased the mugs from "each" resort...
A phenomenon...that I noticed at each resort....the CM's went above and beyond to tell us what was a value and what was not...any perk or "freebie" that they could offer...they did....
I cannot fathom...that you would be prohibited from using any mug that you wanted....
I...and please....this is just one person's opinion....I don't feel that you are "cheating" Disney by using mugs from other resorts...
IF you are using them during a ONE trip period.

I say keekp your receipt for the mugs from the first hotel. Then ask a CM at the food court at the second hotel. Show them your bill and ask if they give a discount for new mugs during same trip. Can't hurt to ask ... if not, then I would suggest sharing !

Wow!! Thanks for all the different opinions . Apparently I hit a subject that has been debated before but on which there is no "official" rule that everyone adheres to. I have my own opinion as well but was hoping there would be a Disney policy that they stuck to. My DH and I can certainly share a cup but the kids...that's another story. Last year my DS (5 at the time) got strep throat while at Disney and was out for 3 days after a visit from the wonderful Disney Doc that makes hotel visits. After that I'm afraid to share anything on the trip . I can't see that Disney would "penalize" us for upgrading resorts.
