Resort Switch

Strange question,but I have to ask.........I`ve read that if you switch resorts they will transfer your baggage.How would you get to the resort you are switching to? It would be from ASM to WL.Taxi? Take bus to MK then boat to WL?My DW is a little concerned with switching.The day we would switch would be a "breather and pool day" we wouldn`t be going to any park.

Get up at your leisure and check-out of ASM. Take a bus to someplace you'd like to visit. (i.e. to MK, to take a ride around the resort loop on the monorail checking out hotels, perhaps to enjoy b'fast at Ohanas, 1900 Park Fare or Chef Mickeys!) Then if you are at CR (contemporary) for Chef Mickeys simply hop on the boat over to WL and check-in. If you're at 1 of the other hotels loop around to MK and take the boat to WL.

If your room isn't ready you can make use of their facilities. On days we transfer I always keep 1 carry-on small bag w/ me w/ our toiletries, bathing suits, cameras, etc so I'm all set if the room isn't ready right away.

It's very easy and not stressful, though I too was apprehensive the 1st time we did this!

we sometimes switch hotels when we go to WDW. We always check out, send our bags to the new hotel, and go to Downtown Disney for a few hours for lunch and shopping, then take the bus back to our new resort for check in.

Makes for a nice, relaxing afternoon.

Make sure you give the bell captain plenty of time to let them know you are leaving. We switched resorts last trip and the wait to pick up your luggage was 40 minutes. We wanted to just leave it in the room and go, but they required us to stay and see the bags off. Just my personal opinion, but I really dislike switching resorts. Last time was the first, and last.
