ZTH--not in that group, but I LOVE IT!!!
I wanted to see if this is an okay size for the topper - sorry it's a bad picture, I was trying to take it with a webcam, and the webcam showed it backwards, so I had to move it in the opposite direction... arg. Anyway. It's 5 inches wide and 5 tall with the turret. This okay?

It's "Sure Cuts A Lot", and you can download it from a bunch of different websites - shop around for the best price, we got it for about 50$? But they just came out with a new version, which I think is more expensive. We'll be upgrading though - it sounds a lot better.
It lets you hook your Cricut up to your computer, and you can cut out different fonts and pictures, etc, so you're not just limited to carts. It's hard to learn at first (if you want to do pictures, you need to download a free program called "Inkscape" too.), but once you get the hang of it, it's really neat!
It is like Design Studio, but you can use any font on your computer with it (some weld better than others though). You can also cut all kinds of shapes. The Latte card I did for the card swap was a file that I cut with my Cricut using SCAL. I really like the versatility of the program (and being able to cut whatever I want). I think it's a good investment, and since the new version just came out, you would have a year or more before a third version comes out and you'd have to think about upgrading.
Yeah, I got it in April. Still, I think they should have told us they were coming out with an upgrade, I may have waited and I may not have, but I would have been informed.
BTW, if you got if after 6/22, you can get a free upgrade, I think. Let me see if I can find the info.
I've had the program since April, I consider myself computer savvy, and I am still learning. You can download a free trial and test it out. It uses SVGs, which are edited with a program called Inkscape, a free downloadable program.
There are TONS of tutorials out there, and I really like the program, it just takes a little time to get the "steps" down.
Susie, where did you preorder the Gypsy from? I told DH I wanted one for my birthday (next month).
My cricut just threw the mat and paper out in the middle of cutting. 2 sheets of blue paper were ruined in the process. I quit for the night
