My husband has decided that we will be going to Disney this August. The kids and I have been the last three summers and my husband joined us the last two times. We have stayed at Pop and twice at POR. My dh really wants to stay in a deluxe and he is also toying with club level. My son would love AkL. We are unsure where we will be staying. We have been trying to find out the various activities at the resorts for kids and haven't had much success with it. Any information or suggestions would be great.
Thanks
Angel

My family loves Wildreness Lodge, they do alot of things with the kids in the lobby. It is also nice to take a boat to Magic kingdom, I think my kids look forward to that rather than the park itself!:cool1: :dance3:

I suggested Wilderness Lodge to dh and he doesn't think that he would like it. I will have to run it by him again.

I love the AKL. It's cheaper than other Deluxes, but every bit as good. :thumbsup2 It isn't for everyone, but if you think you'll like it, you'll probably love it. :) I find it much more relaxing than any other hotel. And when I walk in, it is just like the weight of the world falls off my shoulders. "Ahhhhh."

I did a lot of club level stays (back when it was called "concierge" - the name change was a good thing and better reflects the service offered) and I gave up on it. For over $100/night, I can stop and buy my own gummy worms and pop. And I'll get Pepsi products, too. The one and only thing I miss is having the packages delivered to my room instead of having to pick them up in the gift shop.

So, I shop less. Big whup.

Does anyone know if you can sleep five in a room at AkL because everytime we check online it says resort unavailable when we put in 5 but when we put in 4 it works.

I believe AKL does have some deluxe rooms that sleep 5. These have a daybed in addition to the 2 queens. You will love AKL! It is just magnificent, and there are plenty of activities for kids. We stayed here for our first visit to WDW. I'm very excited to be returning next January.

Angeleigh, we have a family of 5 and have learned that you can't get a standard room at too many places for 5. There are standard rooms at some deluxe resorts that sleep 5 with 2 queens and a daybed. But I am pretty sure that at AKL and WL, you have to upgrade to a deluxe room.

Another option, for about the same or even less money, is to get 2 connecting rooms at a moderate or value resort. That gives you 4 beds, 2 t.v.s, 2 bathrooms - all of which make getting the kids to rest/sleep or bathed alot easier. Or you could look into the new family suites at ASM
