We are sailing on the Dream next May 2022. We want to stay pre-cruise on-site . I would love any suggestions on which resort to stay at pre cruise. Just two adults sailing. TIA!!

That´s a hard question to answer for someone else. I love just about all of them. Which ones do you normally stay at? Do you want to try someplace new? Do you have plenty of points, or a limited amount? I would suggest looking at the theming and decide what ¨feel¨ you want and what restaurants you want to go to. Our favorite is VGF, but OKW is a close second.

Will you actually do WDW otherwise you might want to look at places over by the Cruise area so you can have more relaxing time in the morning before the cruise departure.

Disney doesn't do any of the free transportation between resort and cruise terminal anymore to my knowledge.

We usually stay one night at the Hyatt MCO pre-cruise. But thought about spending a couple of days at WDW since our cruise is only a 4 night cruise. We have never stayed at SSR. We would only be visiting the resort pools and Disney Springs. We will be using DCL transportation so they will pick us up at the resorts ( I think). But we will need to get over there by Mears I guess.

The only other resort we might try is Riviera if it were available. But with SSR refurb and location I’m thinking this might be a good time to try it.

We did a pre-cruise stay at SSR so we could visit Disney Springs. We only did one night and did not visit parks. AKL and OKW might be good choices as well if you aren’t planning to go to parks.

Otherwise, I would try to go somewhere that is harder to book since a two night stay might be easier to find.

When we come in the day before our cruise we like to stay at okw or ssr. Mostly because we have a car and have quick access to our luggage. We don’t have to drag it from a far away parking lot (like Bwv) to and from our room. When we leave we just zip back to the car and we’re off. Plus both are quiet and relaxing.

We often stay at Vero pre DCL Cruise. We get an OVIR, and we feel our cruise has begun. I know you asked for WDW. IF that’s where we were staying, I would pick someplace that had a character breakfast. Years ago we stayed with family at BCV, did the character breakfast and headed to the port. There were 10 of us.

I pick this exactly the way we pick other WDW vacations: based on what we want to do with those couple of pre-cruise days.

One time, we were just doing a resort stay and did AKL. It's a fun resort to just hang out and explore, and we normally don't stay there because we don't like bus-only transportation to parks, which doesn't matter on a resort day.

Another time, we had plans to do the Christmas party at MK, so we chose an MK area resort. Specifically Poly. It was really lovely, and drinking Lapu Lapus and having breakfast at "O'hana" before the ride to port really got us in the vacation mindset. That one was probably my favorite.

Another time, we were cruising just after Galaxy Edge was open, so chose Beach Club to be nearby. Unfortunately it ended up being an unusually cold November day (50 degrees) so stormalong bay was out! Something to keep in mind based on the time of year of your cruise that swimming might not always be a possibility.

Will Disney Cruiseline transport pick up from Vero?

Cruising next May. We have never stayed Savannah view so maybe that would be a good time to try it. Thanks for the suggestion!
