Thanks to @Elle23 for the following report from Pop (posted on the Pop thread) this morning:

The self service drink stations are open at Pop!!!!

They have a CM standing there limiting the number of people who can access the stations at a given time, but I filled my very own coffee cup this morning!

Progress!!!

Would love to hear any on the ground reports from other resorts to see if this is a property wide change.

:thanks:

And we also have a report from @Rick195275 at YC/BC this morning (posted on the YC/BC thread):

I’m sure it’s a resort wide thing but today the marketplace went back to allowing guests to get their own drinks at the refill station. I personally was happy to see this, hated bothering the CMs for something I could easily do myself.

The only bad thing about this is you now have to carry your mug everywhere. I loved being able to just show a picture when I was there in February.

Yesterday morning, CMs were still filling disposable cups at All-Star Movies. When I asked about it earlier in the week, a CM said change would hopefully be coming soon.

If the outdoor drinks are open and you can fill your mug I think I might change my mind and buy one on my trip this weekend. Interesting!

So now you HAVE to fill the actual mug, right, because the chip needs to be read?

I hated the waste of all the disposable cups, but I did love being able to grab a drink on the way out in the morning without then having to find a place to wash my mug and carry it around with me all day.

This actually lessens the value of the mug to me because I know I won't carry it around with me all day and will therefore use it a lot less.

First blog report I’ve seen that confirms above mentioned:

Disney World Relaxes COVID-19 Rules for Refillable Mugs, Self-Serve Beverage Stations

“Here’s a look at the updated wording, showing that guests are able to once again refill their own mugs and cups at self-serve stations:

  • Self-Serve Changes: Some self-serve beverage stations—which allow for Guests to fill and refill their own beverages—are available at select quick-service restaurants located in Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Resort hotels. Locations may vary.”

Yes. I loved being able to show a picture of my mug and get a drink. I have to figure out if I'm going to be eating in the QS enough to make it worth it. Though if I get my requested building at the Poly this summer, I'll have to go past the CGH from the bus stop (or through it at the monorail stop if that reopens), so it's not like I'll be going out of my way. Just the pain of carrying the mug. And it holds less than the cups.

I don’t know when it was added but there is an outdoor drink station on the left side of the pool bar at the main pool.
We first noticed it in September,2020.

I am thinking that it was only installed and open for a very short time before the Covid shutdown or possibly has never been opened at all.

Very welcome addition-this has always been one advantage AoA had over POP.

There's a drink station at the Oasis pool too.

This is us as well. This was one of our favorite things about the changes...we loved being able to just grab a disposable cup and not having to wash out our mugs etc.

Going back means less value for us, but definitely cheaper for Disney, which I suspect is part of why it's being one of the first things going back lol.

Does anyone know if this applies to the Freestyle machines that a few of the resorts have? I know CBR has them, but we won’t be staying there this time. Yacht Club has them in the Market and we’ll be staying there as part of our split stay.
