Resort Restaurant before MNSHHP??

HI!
I was wondering if anyone has eaten dinner at one of the resort restaurants prior to attending MNSHHP-- and how it worked out. I would make ressies for LTT, but my 5yo is really picky and won't eat anything there. We're doing Crystal Palace one day for lunch. We were thinking about Chef Mickey's or Whispering Canyon at 5pm before heading over. Just wondering if it's possible. Has anyone done this??

We did Kona and it worked great. Had an early seated and headed over. Changed the kids in the resort bathroom.

Sure it's possible. I always eat in the park cause that's just my routine but for our first party, we did eat at Chef Mickey's before the party. We were staying at the Contemporary.

We ended up arriving right at 7:00p so Main Street was a zoo. I would definitely make your dinner early enough so you can enter the park a little earlier then that. If possible don't eat any later then 5:00p. That should be good.

Tony's and the Plaza (and the Castle) are also open for eating at MK but they don't have any characters.

I'm going to eat at Tony's this year so DH can try it out (we ate there last year before MNSSHP without DH).

We are going to do late lunch, early dinner at Whispering Canyon, then we can check out WL and take the boat over to MK which we have never done before. We are SOOOOOOOOO excited

IS disney taking ressies already for the dates of mnsshp? Do you need to leave a cc deposit? Has disney begun the sale of tickets/dates for the party? Need more info on this! Thanks!!!

No, Tickets haven't gone on sale yet. I heard April. I actually just emailed my TA (Grandgetaways.com), and asked if she would get them for me. If she gives me any info (I'm sure she will), I'll pass it on to you.

Last year the tickets went on sale April 30 so you aren't missing anything. No CC deposit for restaurants, only need CC to buy the party tickets.

Thank you! We did mnsshp last year and LOVED it! Only problem i had was that at 90 days out i couldn't get dining ressies for before the party! I did end up getting crt but two weeks before my trip! I would love to do the party again and am hoping disney will offer a great package for the fall!

we have found the resort meals before a "party" to be much less hectic than trying to eat at one of the MK restaurants...last year we ate at LTT and the year before that CP....they both were a ZOO!

We generally do 'Ohana or 1900 PArk Faire, and try to stay on the monorail so that we can just ride over to the party. Two years ago we moved to the Poly the day of our party, it worked out great. This year we were booked at the CR but had to cancel due to my father's death. The dining opportunities inside the MK are pretty sparse, especially with everyone attending the party. PErsonally I find a 4PM adr a little too early.

Last year we were staying at WL, so we ate a late lunch/early dinner at WCC at around 3pm. Then we went upstairs, changed and headed over to the party. It worked great!

The year before, we were staying at the Boardwalk. We ate at Cosmic Ray's around 5pm(?). That worked great too.
