Resort refillable mug and split DVC stay?

Great, thanks! Next time, when I buy my mug, I'm going to take a picture of my receipt just in case. I usually have my refillable mug with me, in the basket of my ECV, but with my luck there'll be sometime when I don't. I'll take a picture, and keep it in my photos along with the picture of my vaccination card, again-just in case!

Now that they are doing self service again, I really don’t think there will be a way to get it without the actual mug as there won’t be a CM with a paper cup to give you.

You Joffrey's people need to go start an unpopular opinion thread or something. LOL

I mean I'm not a coffee snob, but it seems like neither is Joffrey.

Mission accepted! Hahaha. I'm sure there are a lot of Joffrey haters out there, but it's pretty good. I wasn't saying it was some premium brand of coffee or on the same level as some high end imported coffee, but for resort coffee it was really good. I guarantee that Joffrey would win in a blind taste test against a cup of Hilton or Marriott coffee.

As an FYI, this also extends to Vero Beach if you are staying there pre or post WDW trip. It's tied into the same system...
Last time we went to Vero after a WDW stay, i kept the receipt.. they asked for that at the gift shop at Vero.. Vero front desk sent us there to activate. Might have changed, but doesn’t hurt to keep in case😁

Have a few follow on questions on this mug issue. My only experience with the refillable mug was with the DDP many years ago. Then, you'd have one per person in the group. We are going in two weeks (split stay, so thanks for the OP question, which helps), but can I just buy one mug and use it interchangeably with my family? Get coffee in the morning for me and DH. Use it for sodas later in the day for the kids? That seems like a no brainer. I'd never pay $20 x 5. But getting one mug, maybe two? That pays for itself pretty quickly.

Also, most of our stay is at BWV - what is the QS location that fills these? And based on the last few responses, sounds like you really do fill the mugs now (as opposed to just showing a picture of the receipt/mug and they give you a drink) - is that indeed the case?

Last time I checked, there aren't any RFID sensors at the coffee stations, so as long as you have your mug with you, it's an endless stream of cafeine: Fill, drink, repeat. The soda sensors have timers and limit how often (or how quickly) you can refill the mug (you can't fill up, dump it into another container, then fill it back up again right away). Beyond that, no one checks to see who's holding the mug, or who's drinking out of it. Knowing the Mouse though, they probably have some CM guidance as to monitoring for "abuse".

Yes, you can use it interchangeably with your family, though I'm sure Disney would prefer you buy a mug for each person. There is a cool down period between refills - I think it's 2 minutes - but otherwise you can refill it as often as you want.

I think now that they are back to allowing you to refill your own mugs that you need the mug with you now.
