Resort quick service that is worth the trip

on our 1st night it's tradition to hop on monorail to poly to eat @ capt cook's and walk on beach for wishes, we love walking over to AOA for the surf/surf burger, I would like to try GF cs because

all are different

I love captain cook's at the poly. They have some amazing nachos, some sort of bbq sandwich, and some meatballs (coconut curry or something like that) that are all really really good! I like tonga toast from kona, but i don't know that i would like it without the strawberry sauce, which is how it is served at CC. I would stop by on an MK day for sure!

We stayed at AKL last fall, I was excited to try the Mara. We had a big group (8), none of us thought it was great. However, I've heard such good things about it, maybe I'm missing something? Tried the zebra domes, wasn't impressed either. We'll try it again when we're back at that resort, but no special trip planned just for QS.

DS: Wolfgang Puck, D-Luxe Burger, Blaze
Poly: Capt Hooks
AKL: Mara
CSR: Pepper Market
AoAA: Landscape Flavors with time to wander the whole resort with lots of pics!

CBR: Is the one questionable one ... in next couple days we should know what is on the buffet and how much it costs. Making sure it's a QS for buffet ... I know they say it but that would be a rare offering and they are also closing their TS so .... I would just verify this once it's up and running.

PS: If you have had real beignets in NOLA, then I would skip POFQ, not the same.

I'm with some of the PPs - don't think I would go out of my way for resort QS. I've tried many of them & none are that special or offer anything spectacularly unique that I must have. I'd focus on DIS Springs and some of the newish offerings in the parks. ps I did enjoy the tandoori chicken at AoA but don't think I'd take a bus there just to enjoy. Great when it was just a quick walk over the bridge from POP. Otherwise, I'd emphasize the convenience of in park or DIS Springs offerings.

Now I wouldn't be taking buses to eat most anywhere that isn't easy ......... but if OP has a car then yes, I drive to resorts for QS. It's nice for variety, checking out other resorts and many times getting better food.

I have heard that the CBR new QS buffet is only for resort guests. I'm not sure if this is true, but I believe it was on the CBR resort thread.

That would be very smart of them! I hope it's true. What would be worse than dealing with the construction is dealing with guests coming in because it's a good deal.

Would love to hear of some resort quick service that is worth the trip - either because quality if unusually high or the variety is better than most. We are staying at All Star Music with free QS dining and are very familiar with those food courts and the park quick service restaurants. We'll be there 9 nights and will definitely want to build in some variety of meals.

We love Wolfgang Puck Express at Disney Springs (it'll always be Downtown Disney in my heart) and may venture over to AOA as we enjoyed their less typical menu when we stayed at Pop a few years ago. Where else?
We just stayed at Pop for a night last Fall and walked over to AoA and they have the best QS of all the values!! CBR is great as well but think they are going down for remodel soon.

We go out of our way, sometimes multiple times a trip, for POFQ. Huge plates of great food (love the fried chicken), beignets, and it's small and quieter than most locations - especially during free dining times. We enjoy walking the grounds, too. It's a lovely resort to explore with the connection to POR.

I typically won't go out of my way for a quick-service meal, either, but I've read good things about Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge and am looking forward to trying that.
