Resort Question about Land/Sea Pkg?

We are staying at the Beach club for the beginning part of our 3day/4night Land/Sea Pkg starting 10/10/02.

There are seven of us DH, DW and 5 children, so we have two rooms.

Are you automatically given a std view room when booking as part of this package?

Can you still fax location requests or do they put all of the cruisers in one area of the hotel?

Has anyone recently been given an upgrade that has booked the land/sea package?

Do you have the opportunity to upgrade to concierge level at time of check in? With 5 kids, this might save us some $$$ on water and snacks.

Hi JJ!

The rooms with DCL land/sea packages are all standard rooms. Any requests you have would need to be noted on your CRUISE reservation, they will then transmit them to your resort. Typically those with the land/sea package are not given upgrades. If you're interested in pricing for concierge, contact DCL and have them get pricing for you. I'm not sure if you could do it at check-in or not; you would definitely pay quite a bit more at check-in if they allowed you to upgrade.

I say give it a try and fax in your room request - In Nov 2000 we stayed at BWI for our land portion. We booked that trip through our travel agent and she specifically told me that we would have standard room only in a specific area of the hotel. Well, I faxed anyway, politely requesting a "water/boardwalk view if at all possible" and stating that it was our first time at a deluxe hotel and how much we were looking forward to staying there - I wasn't expecting anything, but thought I'd at least try. At check in I asked if they had received my fax request and CM said yes - sure enough he gave us a great room right over the bakery overlooking the boardwalk. The CM who helped us to the room with our luggage even said, "wow, how did you get this room with the cruise package?!" - a little disney magic ! - I feel it never hurts to ask as long as you won't be disappointed if you don't get your request.

Definitely do fax a room request to the BC!

We stayed at the BC during the land portion of our 3-land/4-sea trip in April of this year. I faxed the BC 4 days before our arrival and asked for a room near the international gateway at Epcot and a day bed.

We were given the fourth closest room to Epcot and it did have a daybed. We were just thrilled with the location!!! We were on the ground floor and had a door which opened onto a quite pathway. It was just a quick (less than 5 minute) walk and we were in Epcot.

I also faxed a lagoon view room request to the Grand Floridian for our land/sea package in February. We were given a fabulous corner room with two balconies, one overlooking the MK and Contemporary and the other overlooking the Polynesian and the GF beach. One of the highlights for my daughter was watching the EWP twice a night from each balcony.
