Resort pools

Grand Floridian, Poly, Kidani, and SSR Paddock all have great looking kid splash/slide areas for a 4 year old.
Personally, I’d avoid SAB at YC/BC at that age since it’s so spread out and the lazy river gets up to 8’ deep...

I vote stormalong Bay beach/yacht club my little guy loved it. Playing with the sand and he could walk all around the shallow kid section. Were trying animal kingdom and poly split stay this time which have cool looking splash play areas so ill see if my opinion changes next week 😀

My 4 year old loves any pool that he’s in! We love POFQ because the resort is small and the pool never felt crowded. He even tried the slide, but once was enough for him. They also have an amazing kids splash zone, but he just wanted the pool. We have also had great pool time at All Star Movies. I think kids seem to be less concerned with the details!

True, I think many kids only care:
1) Does the pool has water?
2) is the water wet?
Parents are often the picky ones.

I would think the pool at Kidani would be ideal for a 4 year old, that splash area looks so fun! Plus, you can use the pool at Jambo as well. The play area at the Grand Floridian also looks great, every time I have seen the play area at the Poly pool it has seemed really crowded but that could just be my timing of being there. I am not too familiar with the other pools with play areas but I am sure they are nice as well. I don't think you will go wrong no matter what you choose.

my kid is only 1, so no firsthand experience.

but i would vote against the GF. the splash area is neat, but it’s so disconnected from the other pools. and overall the pools are a bit lacking, to me. there’s nothing special about them.

i think AKL is a great option. both Jambo and Kidani would be fun with a 4 year old! plus animals. I can’t wait until my kiddo is old enough to enjoy the theming.

the pool at AoA looks like a kid would love it, but depending when you’re going it might be under refurbishment.

someone will correct me if i’m wrong, but i don’t think any moderate pools are zero entry. i think zero entry is nice with kids.

For a 4 yr old? One with water in it of course!
he he, sorry, couldn't resist :)
As far as the resorts I've stayed at, I thought Polynesian and Caribbean have some of the best "kids" play areas. I've never stayed at AKL but I hear it has a nice area as well.

We're also doing AKL/Poly split stay, arriving this week!

My young kids have loved the splash pad/pool at GF but they haven't experienced the others yet.

I am soo excited i havent stayed st either since i was like 10. I hope we love them as much as i think we will. Did you make any room requests?

My older son will be just about 4 on our upcoming trip. We are staying at the Contemporary. Many resorts have kids splash areas, but honestly my kids don't like the kids splash pads because of the buckets that pour water on their heads. The pool at POFQ was a big hit with my son when he was almost 3. He LOVED the water slide. It was perfect for a first slide, very gentle. All the Disney pools will appeal to children. Kids love pools and a 4 year old won't know what is different about one pool vs. another. He won't miss what he doesn't know. Pick the resort with theming, pricing, and location that you like and the pool will work out!

Best pool for a four year old ?

Value resort pools.

They are simple, straightforward, and easy to find your own spot in.

I feel that zero entry pools are very difficult for parents, wading against all of that water is not easy for me, personally.

Yep!

And when I was a kid, I was the same.

Whatever pool they're in + whatever pool you feel comfortable with them using.

SAB seems too bonkers for me right now.

We don't have a pool so my kid is happy in ANY pool.

Disconnected:confused3 The splash area is just feet away from the beach pool. Picture taking from pool area. I do not think any splash pad is actually part of the resorts pool area, but they are all real close.
OP, our DD's were super excited at any of the pools we went to, but did like to go on the slides so that eliminated the Values.

SAB does have a separate kids pool and slide in addition to the big pool. Our kids loved it when they were young. (Still do). They also have a large kids area with a sandbar as part of the main pool.
