resort pickup/delivery for rental car

I'm curious about renting a car that with resort delivery and drop-off. Getting to and from the airport is not an issue for us. How do you arrange a rental car to be picked up and returned to your resort? Is there a large fee for that? Do you end up waiting for an hour in the lobby for your vehicle? Anyone know the particulars?

When we needed a car for one day on a recent trip, we reserved through National. They have a complimentary shuttle that picked us up at our resort and brought us to the Car Care Center. The cars were at the CCC. Paperwork and car pick up was done there. When we returned the car, the complimentary shuttle returned us to our resort.

I don't know if all the WDW area car rental agencies work this way, but I suspect that they do.
