Hello

Need some help so we the new discounts out now I am trying to decide between the following:

So For time time when I go I am either going to 4 or 5 nights at one resort or a split visit. The difference is a few hundred dollars here or there. It will be my daughter and I celebrating her 16th Birthday. My daughter is not a big pool person so we are just looking a resort with a comfy room, maybe some food options and transportation that are fairly close. My daughter and I loved Poly when we toured it also love our stay at Port of Orleans Riverside but I'm not going to have a car so I don't want to do POR this time. We stayed a Pop for a few days and while we we ok they're not our favorite place to stay but it has its conveniences. I'm also not sure how the weather is in Florida in January. We don't have a favorite park so I'm not looking to stay near anything specific.

So my options are:

Old Key West for 4 or 5 Nights

Contemporary for 4 Nights (This is the most expensive options)

Wilderness Lodge 4 or 5 Nights

Split visit option is

1 Night at Polynesian and the 3 or 4 nights at POFQ (least expensive option)

1 or 2 Nights at Pop and 3 Nights at Contemporary

The Old Key West is the next to least expensive option to the Poly/POFQ split but by 10 or 20 dollars and the Pop/Contemporary split is only a little more then both of those by about a $100.

Please let me know your thoughts and what I should choose.

Thanks

Personally, I wouldn't split a 5 night stay. My vote would be WL. It's absolutely gorgeous, there is a ton to do there, plus you have the convenience of the boat to MK (you can also take a boat to CR and walk to MK from there).

I would go with the Contemporary. It's a quick, easy walk to MK from there, and you can take the monorail to Epcot. We love the rooms at the Contemporary, they are really nice. You can also see the Electrical Water Pageant and the fireworks from there.

I wouldn't split stay one night, unless it was first or last night for timing reasons.

Check in is late afternoon check out is morning. Youre 'homeles" for too many hours for a one night stay.
Out of your options I'd go with WL for the reasons given by PP

Alternative would split stay with AKL.

I'm assuming you intentionally omitted EPCOT area resorts.

Absolutely agree. I'd pick Wilderness Lodge and never look back. It is gorgeous, peaceful, and has the ability to feel like a vacation all on its own. I'd go with Wilderness Lodge, no doubt.

Yes the Night at Poly would be the 1st Night just to get the feel of staying there :o. The Pop Nights would also be the 1st 2 nights because I would like to come in on the weekend and there are no PoFQ rooms Available.

For some reason BC, YC, BWI are way over my budget for that week I did price them but they are coming in about $1k more for the stay not sure why. I really wanted to do Beach Club because I think my daughter would love it there.

I wouldn't split stay such a short visit. I also would want that 5th day so the CR would be out. My vote would be WL. What does your daughter want, since it is her birthday trip?

Out of your options, I'd choose WL for mother-daughter trip because it has a cozy and comfortable feel to it.

OP we posted at the same time, so I see your next post about the BC. That was actually going to be my first vote if it was an option for you. It's such a nice walk from BC to Epcot countries for some nice/fun meals! Maybe the system was glitching when you were trying to price it out. It should cost less than both Poly and CR (if you're just pricing out standard rooms). Though the standard wing room at CR might be about the same cost as BC standard room.

We've gone to Disney in January the last 2 years and are going again this January. 2 years ago we had temps from 40's to 80. Last year the weather was spectacular. No rain and low 80s during the day and upper 60s at night.

I would choose the Contemporary because it is the most convenient for quick access to the parks and dining options at the other resorts on the monorail. Wilderness Lodge would be a close second. I've stayed at the Poly, Wilderness Lodge and Old Key West. My wife wouldn't go back to OKW because it was so dated, spread out and slow busses to parks.

I was going to surprise her with the trip tell her closer to Christmas. I know she likes the food at POFQ but I also know I will try to take her to some different more upscale restaurants since we won't have her brothers. We both like Sushi, Seafood and Fish where as they don't.

I would not split a stay that short. Out of those options I would choose WL. I don't know anything about OKW, and I would want that extra night so I wouldn't choose CR (CR doesn't really appeal to me anyway).

Consider Swan Dolphin. Remember to include resort fee, parking fee or airport transfers when you price it.

I'd choose Old Key West. You take busses to parks but it's an easy boat ride to Disney springs for dinner and other fun things for a teen when you are tired of parks. Bowling, dine in movies, lots of great restaurants and shopping. But we are people that go to DWD for two weeks and go to the parks one day.

It looks like reason is that a Regular Standard view is not available for that week its either a Standard View/Garden View Club Level which is way out of budget or Lagoon/Pool View which comes out to be about $5O more per night then the Garden Wing at CR. :sad1:

Oh I see. Well no worries because you have lots of other good options! Also, you could keep checking on the BC. New/different room options pop up all the time.

I was going to say Contemporary all the way, but with the difficulty that I have had getting rooms there this year....

I wouldn't do a split stay for 5 nights, you didn't say what type of room at OKW. I
Would choose WL unless you had a 1 bedroom at OKW. If you feel comfortable with the price of CR then I think you should stay there, convince is the key for that one.
WL is beautiful and a boat to MK is nice, OKW 1 bedroom is spacious, relaxing and love having a range, washer n dryer plus a boat to Disney springs - have fun

It's a Studio but that's good to know.

I would not do a split stay with that short of a trip but I understand why you want Poly. I love that resort. I would choose WL as my second option. It can get downright chilly in January and WL is the cosiest of all the resorts with all of the woodwork and fireplaces hidden throughout the resort. I personally prefer WL to Contemporary as I find its theming more appealing. Contemporary is more practical but colder with all its concrete.

Did you think of maybe renting a DVC at Poly. It might come out cheeper than going through Disney?
