Resort Mugs

I'm thinking of buying a refillable mug on my upcoming trip. I'm staying at POP... what are the drink options for the mug? Are there any un-caffeinated sodas? and juices? I have an allergy to caffeine and I'd like to know if I'll be able to find anything to fill my mug with. TIA

IIRC, at Cap'n Cooks at the Poly, Minute Maid Lemonade (Lite), Apple Juice and Raspberry Iced Tea (Nestea, not sure if decaf), were available in addition to usual sodas.

I happen to love the refillable mugs and missed them at CR this year. I know they don't hold that much, except CSR, they're definitely good size, but I liked the afternoon coffee with my mug and it is so worth it for me. 12.49 is rather expensive, so sharing IS an option for us (family of 5). I wouldn't buy more than 2 if we we're on the dining plan though.

Not sure, but are these mugs included in the Magic Your Way packages this year? I thought I read something about each person getting one.. but I may be way off here.

If they're not included, and we purchase our own, do you think it would be worth it to get one even if I'm on the dining plan? Because every time I get a meal, my drink is included anyway.

Also, are the resorts the only places we are allowed to refill them? Can we only refill at the resort where we're staying?

They were not included in MYW when we stayed in June of '07. There will be a Dining Plan option in '08 where the mug is included.

We also had the dining plan and bout two mugs for DW, DS5, and myself. We did use it in the morning, on our afternoon break, and upon return. In addition, it does make a nice souvenir from the trip.

what do you do if you split your stay, can you use the cup at both places. We are at AKL now and they have the AKL mug, can this be used when I move on Friday to POFQ>

Since both those Resorts are selling the YOAMD mugs and because you would still be on vacation at WDW, you can use the same mugs when you are at POFQ. Besides no one can tell where and when you bought the mugs since they are all the same, so I don't see any problems with it.

Technically you would be required to buy another mug. Since they are the same at the second resort you shouldn't have a problem.

I agree with the bolded section of your post, Disney doesn't care but a previous poster

provided a picture of the YOAMD mug. It clearly limits refills to the resort where purchased. Further your stay in that resort ends when you check out.

The fact that Disney is putting a year on the mug suggest Disney might, in the future, be more concerned with guests bringing old mugs back then continuing to use a mug during a split stay.

I don't have a problem with guests filling whatever mugs they bring, Disney doesn't care but I wonder why some posters, not just you, make up and change posted rules.

I thought I had heard/read where they offered two sizes of refillable mugs and the large mug was 64 oz. Is that true?

I would think so. I guess it also depends on how techincal you get when you translate the "mug rules." Does 'resort' mean the hotel you are staying at, or the WDW 'resort' in general? Hmmm.....:rolleyes1

(As someone mentioned though, the design is the same at all of the resorts, so who would know any how?:cool2: )

What is so hard about the new rule that they are good at ANY resort for your Length of stay. That would include a split stay in my book, If you are making one trip to disney world for say ten days that is one stay whether you stay in three properties or one and the mug is good at all of them for length of stay.
When you return in 6 mo or a year of whatever THAT is not the same stay hence new Mugs.

1st about WDW putting the year on the mugs, if guests are using them on split stays and it's still 2007 they are doing nothing wrong. If they want to try and use them when it's 2008 good luck to them, but for the time being I don't see any problems as long as they are still on vacation in WDW.

As for the saying on the mugs here is what was written on the old Resort ones. "Free refills until the end of your stay. Refills only at location purchased."

On the YOAMD mugs the rule is "Free refills available at our Resort Beverage Island until the end of the stay in which the mug was purchased."

In my opinion they were more clear on the old mugs, because the YOAMD mugs do not say good at one Resort. So when WDW says the words our Resort Beverage Island they mean all Resort CS locations. Besides if WDW did not want guests using the same mugs on a split stay or to use while visiting other Resorts, they should not be selling the same ones at every location.

Thanks for all of th help but I just bought the mug at the AKL and it was not the YOMD mug, it was the AKL. I assume they ran out?

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo:eek:
I really wanted a YOMD mug when we go in December.

Actually, they've extended YOMD by another year, so maybe they will get more mugs?

I found it hard to believe they ran out but it was very late one night and I went down and I purchased the AKL mug they brought from the back. Maybe it was because I said I just loved the hotel.
