Resort Mugs - DVC owners

With the new resort mugs out, it got me thinking. We are constantly purchasing new mugs and thusly (?) have a bizzillion of them. We've taken them to the lake, tried to give some away, yadda, yadda. It frustrates me to have so many and I'm one not to just throw things away that are perfectly good.

I wish that DVC could come up with some sort of "recycle your old mug" and get a $ rebate towards a new, or something to attach to the mug for those of us that are frequent buyers. I pay every time for at least 2 mugs when I'm there, and would love some method that would make more sense for DVC'rs.

Anyone have a "wish" list of suggestions that maybe DVC would consider (I doubt it, but Disney is all about wishes)

I wish I had your problem. My teens take them in their cars and they don't seem to make it back home. Once I did not know mine were gone but saw 2 resort specific ones in the lost and found at church that were ones I had. Same color lids, I "knew" they were mine, but did not take until positive. Sure enough, DD and friend who slept over on Saturday had taken them and left them.

Can you send them our way LOL?

As DVC members, we seldom buy the mugs anymore. We have in the past when we were staying at a resort with a convenient refill station or we did a lot of time at the pool.

This a question maybe you can answer for me. Which DVC resorts have convenient refill mug stations anyways? We liked SSR and VWL, but BWV was horrible. How is AKV, OKW and BCV?? I am curiuous about BLT if they will have a mug refill at the pool!!

I feel your pain! It seems so wasteful to me to have to keep buying new mugs every year when it would be so much better to be able to pay a "recharge" fee to just reuse the ones we have. If the Disney gods are listening, I second your suggestion!

Not saying you SHOULD. But I've seen plenty of old mugs at the refill station every time I go. And I know they aren't from some odd old corner and someone grabbed one. Like mugs from the 2005 celebration, with mickey and minnie in there powder blue outfits.

As far as I can tell, as long as you aren't standing at the refill station saying "HOPE NO ONE NOTICES THAT I'M USING A MUG FROM 4 YEARS AGO." no one is going to say anything to you.

And for the record, our family owns zero of the refill mugs. Because our stays aren't long enough to make back the cost, also being DVC we always stop at Publix/Target and get some bottle/cans of soda.
