Resort Mugs and DDE

We will be staying at POFQ next month and plan to purchase new mugs for our trip. Since the food court does take the DDE card will they also let me use the DDE card for their purchase?
We usually buy our mugs as soon as we get checked in but we will get in rather late 11pm, plus we have to get our DDE letter at Epcot the next morning, if I can get the discount I will wait to buy them other wise we'll get them that morning for breakfast coffee.

I tried to buy mugs at POFQ 2 weeks ago with my DDE. The guy said no more discount. I made him swipe the DDE anyway and it did not post a discount. I think at first you could get the mugs at discount, but now they have changed it. Sure hope I did not get ripped off!

I'm not sure about the mugs- but I'm curious why you need to get the letter from Epcot? I just ordered my card a week ago and they sent me a letter to use in place of the card. Can't you ask for a letter to save the stop in Epcot?

Dawgsgirl- Did you still get a discount on your food? I can understand not getting the discount on the mugs since they feel we are already getting a discount on the drinks by getting the mug. WE will be eating most breakfast and some dinners at the Food Ct at POFQ that was a deceiding factor in getting the DDE

Krismom- I called this morning and ordered the DDE, we are going to WDW on June 10 the CM told me she would have the letters (one for my DH) waiting at Epcot Guest Relations and did not offer to even mail me a letter. I guess since we are at the 2 week point she probably thought the letter would not get here in time. I don't mind picking it up since I have to activate my AP anyway at GR and Epcot is our first stop of the trip.

Yes, I got the DDE discount on all my food at the POFQ foodcourt. No problem at all. I'm jealous--have a great trip!

At POR, last week, the gal behind the register said we needed to get any food with it to get the discount. So we used our DDE card for my sister, and she got a muffin with it..then viola! Discount. It will not do it by itself(she tried that first), it did with food.

That makes perfect sense! I was only getting the mugs at the time. Oh, stupid me--no discount on my mugs!

Thanks DMRick, I kinda wondered if that would work. I have no doubt we will be getting some food when we get the mugs so we will see what happens.
With 6 mugs that will be a big discount!!
