Resort mug price increase

It’s finally happed. Bob has gone too far. The resort mugs that have been $19.99 for so long are now $21.99 !

If you check out Marshall's or TJMaxx mug section they often have Disney mugs (no resort ones that I've seen though) for $4 or $5. I recently got a really nice one! I won't spend that much on a mug.

But those are not the refillable mugs @ChipTheRescueRanger is talking about.

If anything could be kept low-cost as a "perk" for on-site guests those mugs should be it.

The reason the resort mugs are more expensive than the ones at Marshalls is because they come with unlimited refills during your stay. Then again, given the size of the mug and where you are staying, it can be difficult to get your money's worth!

Yeah I thought he was talking about resort logo mugs, not the refillable ones.

The regular ones are still $$ on ShopDisney @ $15-$25.

Ah, interesting, I have never seen those before (probably because they are pricey as well, haha).

Still one of the few "values" left at WDW.

When we stay at the All-Stars especially,with the 24/7 Beverage Island access.

With Disney charging over 4 Dollars for a 20 ounce bottle of Powerade Mountain Berry Blast,it doesn't take us long to get on the plus side of the Mug purchase.

We also like to get up early AM and drink several Mugs of Coffee and watch the Resort wake up.

Plus some Hot Chocolate or Tea on occasion,etc..

Just part of the Resort experience for us.

I think they're still a decent value especially vs buying a la carte drinks for a longer stay. It's just a bit of insult to injury on the increase when you're already paying premium for your resort and everything else. Sometimes it would be nice to have more perks for the resort prices these days.

That said, we'll still end up buying them again for the week in January. Shocker, I know.

They should raise the price to $25 but allow you to get free refills at the parks too.

Genie plus price adjustment is wAY WAY WORSE, along with ILL

$21 for unlimited beverages still isn't that bad. 5-6 drinks and you've made up the price and more. It's only $2 more.

that is a very reasonable price increase. less than inflation if you consider past few years.

I don't see much value in the refillable mugs anymore, especially since it used to come with the dining packages. For my November trip this year, I booked a stay at Kidani Village in a villa. I figure we might as well take advantage of the coffee pot in the kitchen as well as stocking up on bottled water and gatorade at Garden Grocer. A case of bottled water and a 12 pack of gatorade is still far less than purchasing 3 refillable mugs for the family.

Not too long ago pricing was tied to days activated so a short trip was cheaper, though higher cost per day. Then the handles were removed, capacity decreased from 16 to 12oz, and one higher price for everyone. I think the higher price helped bolster DDP enthusiasm.

They were 16.49 in 2015. 17.99 in 2016. 18.99 at some point, and then 19.99 in mid 2019.

We have always looked at them as souvenirs, in addition to a refillable drink mug, so that helps us justify the cost. Last time we stayed at POR, we were close enough to the lobby that we got drinks at the beginning and end of every day so our cost savings really added up quickly!

Still a bargain if you stay more than 3 days.
