Resort mug included with dining plan?? Am I reading this right?

Yes... and it can help you out if you use it right! At breakfast I'd use my mug for my tea and then use my breakfast beverage from the Dining plan to get bottled water to bring to the park, which saved me from using a snack from the dining plan!

It's included in the QS Plan or the deluxe plan, but not the basic/standard plan.

It is going to be included in ALL the plans for 2012, but in 2011 it's only included with the Quick Service plan and Deluxe plan.

Wow! That is really great news! I would love not to have paid nearly $60 with tax for our four mugs a few months ago! That definitely makes the DDP a little sweeter!

Does anyone know the cost for the new dining plans? Did the cost change? I'd be interested to see if it went up by $13.99 per person. If that is the case it would not help me. We usually by one mug per trip since I'm the only one who "needs" coffee in the AM. Everyone else waits for juice or milk with breakfast.

Oh this is wonderful! That is going to save my family some serious moolah ;)

Yes, it is nice that it will be included with the DDP next year, but the price increase (which you KNOW will be there) will more than likely outpace the price of a mug so you'll be paying more anyway.

Bingo-- the inclusion is just half the puzzle. It doesn't add value if there was a dramatic increase in price, which is the case. Adult prices are up about 10% and child prices are up about 15%. Adults are up about $5.55, and child up about $3.
So for a family of 2 adults and 2 children, the price for 5 nights, increases about $85.
Going to get $85 worth of value out of your mug?

The price increase would have happened anyway.. It is increased every yr.

(Note) It looks like there is 1 snack per day on QS too. Still happy about the mug on the reg plan! At the new prices still a pretty good deal if you get use out of DP anyway!

Prices go up eevery year, typically entitlements get cut every year. Making it more and more expensive. And while restaurant prices are expected to increase, the DDP prices increase much faster.

For many people traveling off-peak, they will get the ddp for "free." But for people who pay for the ddp in peak periods -- $53.55... it is hard to see very much value, sure can save you a few pennies.

Take a middle priced entree at your typical TS restaurant -- About $23ish.
Throw in a $7 dessert and $2.50 beverage.... A mid priced TS meal is about $33ish... Even with a slight price increase and tax, looking at about $35 or $36 for a TS dinner.
CS lunch is about $15ish... which includes a dessert many people would prefer to pass on.
So looking at about $52 worth of meals, for $53.55. A $3ish snack...

And you have paid $53.55 for $55 worth of food, not counting the mug (which I would never use anyway). So a savings of a whole $1.45.

I could get the exact same food, and only skip the CS dessert.... and it would be less than $53.55.
