Resort monorails in full operation?

I just read that the resort monorails are under refurbishment through October 2016 and not in full operation. I have 3 ADRs at the big three monorail resorts. Can someone verify if this is going to be a problem with timing?

• Epcot Beam Overnight Closure: 11:00 PM Sundays - 9:00 AM Mondays,

Are you staying in a monorail resort? If so, you may want to get a cab or uber ride if the monorail isn't working. The other (free) option from the GF or Poly is to take a boat or walk between the GF and Poly. If going to the CR take the boat to the MK the walk to the CR. If staying at the CR, you can walk to the boat at the MK and ride it to the Poly or GF.

If you are staying anywhere other than a monorail resort, you can take uber, a cab, or bus to the MK and then walk to CR or boat to the GF or Poly.

The walking or boating options will take longer than the monorail, but they are easy and fun.

The resort monorail is in refurb through more than October, although they usually lay off around Christmas for a few weeks.

Assume the monorail is in perpetual refurbishment and you won't be disappointed when you find the schedules are weird.

Argh, I planned our Epcot day for Monday and wanted DS's first impression to be arriving on the monorail.

I suppose since we aren't doing a ton of stuff at Epcot and have FPs, we could wait and just not be there at rope drop.

If the monorails aren't running, there will be some other form of transportation going. You didn't say where you are staying, but if you take the bus to MK, there will most likely be a cast member directing on how to get to your destination.

So the whole monorail system (express/resort/epcot) is closed 11:30am - 6:00pm on Tues, Wed and Thurs? That sucks!

Yeah it sucks. It's been on that reduced schedule since at least March.

well, it's encouraging to see a better schedule from WDW. But I noticed that on the WDW info website they didn't list Swiss family robinson has a closed ride. Maybe later I will call Contemporary directly to see if resort beam is going on.

Let me know what you find out! We'll be at the Poly in less than 2 weeks and are trying to figure out what our options are.

I believe your phone call will just go to a central phone line at a call center, not to someone who is actually onsite at the Contemporary.

Found this handy link to the weekly times guide on another board, and (at least for this week) it looks like only the Express monorail has the midday shutdown. This makes me feel so much better!

Recently the daytime closures, when applicable, have been on the Express Monorail line, not the entire system. There have been times over the last few years when the daytime closures were more pervasive across the lines (including the all-important Resort Line), but that hasn't really been the case recently.

The Times Guide posted above is your best bet for accurate info. But, as always monorail hours can/will change and refurb work can migrate around, so always check it when there to be sure.

FWIW I have stayed at all three monorail resorts at various times this past year (Feb, July, and Sept) and aside from a few mornings where it wasn't running quite as early as I wanted for a morning ADR, I experienced ZERO negative impacts from any refurb work (and we are heavy monorail users at all times of the day).

Don't doubt what you say is accurate, certainly sounds like it was the case so I stand corrected (sorry about that). You always know your stuff around here for sure. But does very much reinforce the idea that the hours and availability change all the time, the need to check the current times guide is super critical, and it's hard to provide advice about what folks may experience in the future given the variability.

I have the times guide for the prior week (9/25-10/1) which indicates that only the Express Line had daytime closures on Mon/Tues/Wed of that week. We had no Resort Monorail day closures during stays earlier that month and back in July. Here's the time guides for a couple of those July weeks, for the FWIW file.

This morning around 10:00, they had TTC buses at the Contemporary announcing that they were for Epcot. anyone have any updated information on this. Head to Epcot tomorrow morning around 8:30-8:45. Would like to know which direction I needed to head.

Also, are those buses just taking you to the TTC or all the way to Epcot? Would love to just take the bus all the way. Getting to/from Epcot on he Monorail is kind of a pain from a Bay Lake/Contemporary. Which you didn't have to switch monorails.

Yesterday there was a delay in the Monorail scheduled 9:00am opening after maintenance. We were at the TTC right at 9:00 because I wanted my son's first trip to Epcot to be on the monorail. We had to ride standing on a crowded bus.

Just as we were in bag check, a monorail showed up. Figures.

The times guild, those are in the lobby of the resorts? With online checking , we haven't gotten the whole pack of information lately. I usually don't need 99% of stuff in the pack, but monorail times would be good to know.
