Anyone have some advice for Resort Hopping?

We are headed to WDW the week of Nov. 15th, 2015 for 9 nights...

THE PLAN:
2 nights at Pop Century
2 nights at Art of Animation
3 nights at Riverside (we consider Port Orleans our "home resort")
2 nights at Animal Kingdom

we will have our own rental car....

any recommendations to make the transitions smooth would be appreciated!

Since you'll have your own car, it will be easy enough to load up your own luggage and transport it between resorts. The biggest hang up with resort hopping is what to do with luggage when people don't have a car, but that's not a concern for you.

Have you resort hopped this much before? A lot of people here will do 3-4 nights at a resort and hop once, maybe twice during a stay. It sounds like a lot of time "taking care of business" checking in/out, packing/unpacking, and not enough time to get acquainted with and appreciate or enjoy a resort before moving onto the next one.

we usually only do one hop, but my wife wanted to check out Art of Animation and I always NEED to visit FQ or Riverside... the POP and AK just ended up a bookends with good Rate....

THANKS for the info!

Don't unpack between hops. With that much moving, save yourself at least that much. Since you are used to doing split stays, you already know that you'll have to be up that much earlier every moving day if you hope to make RD after checking out of one resort and into the next. I'm guessing you won't have kids with you?

I always pack two different suitcases and have a carryon type bag that I put my electronics (either IPAD or laptop, Kindle, GPS from car) in as well as my hanging toiletry bag. Then I only need to grab the new bag and the carry on and I'm good. Driving makes it so easy to do this. With that many hops I'm not sure you would be able to do that but maybe packing cubes for each leg of the trip. Just pull out that leg's cube and put the dirty clothes back into it. Or two bags with cubes in them. I always get up really early, can't help it even on vacation, so I'm checking out of resort #1 around 7 am and into resort #2 around 7:30. I've found the early check in helps since there usually isn't anyone else checking in at that time of the morning. I do on line check in and always say early check in so they know I'll be there and the crack of early. The hanging toiletry bag is the best thing, you don't have to unpack anything, just hang it on the bathroom door hook and work out of it. Nothing on the counters, nothing in the way and just stick it back in the bag on move day. When I go to resort #2 I usually just leave my bags in the car and get them after my room has been assigned but it would be no problem to hand them over to bell services if you want.
