My 72 year old mom and I will be at Disney in May. She hasn’t been there in 25 years. I’ve only been once, and it was only one day at MK and one day at Universal, so I’m pretty much a newbie too.

We’d like to spend one day resort hopping to see some of the different resorts, eat, shop etc. We aren’t staying on site but can take a Lyft from our condo (WBC). My wish list would be:
-see animal kingdom lodge and some animals
-go on the monorail
-go on a boat of some kind (just a water taxi is fine!)
-go to the Boardwalk
-we have a 7:55 adr for Ohana
-get a dole whip at the Polynesian

Any recommendations on where to start, what order to go in, what transportation to use etc would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!

A suggestion since AK is the farthest. Take Lyft to AK to explore. Take bus to Mk. Take monorail and stop at contemporary, grand Floridian and back again to Poly. Walk around. Get dole whip and go to trader sams for a drink before dinner. After dinner take boat or water taxi back to MK. Catch bus to Boardwalk. Take Lyft back to Room. You could do boardwalk in between if you want. But you either need to take bus to Disney springs and another bus to Boardwalk or take bus to MK and bus to boardwalk. And then back to MK for the monorail etc. so while it’s a l9mg day, it seems more efficient to end up at boardwalk.

Is it safe to assume you’d like to “end” your day with dinner at Ohana and a dole whip afterwards? Just thinking through this plan in my head.

Here would be my plan based on the above.
  • Start out with Lyft to AKL Jambo - Head out to the Savannah and poke around the lobby, talk to CMs
  • Bus to Hollywood Studios and then ferry to Boardwalk - This will stop at Swan/Dolphin and Yacht/Beach Club first so you will get a good ride and look around
  • Bus to MK, monorail to Poly
  • After you are done, you can loop around the monorail back to TTC and then do the Epcot loop of the monorail and catch a Lyft from Epcot to WBC.
Additional option after Poly, monorail back to MK and take the ferry to Wilderness Lodge to look around and get a Lyft from there to WBC.

  • If you do not want to do the bus, I would Lyft/Uber to BW, have lunch. Then boat over to MK and catch the monorail to the 3 monorail resorts and finish off at POLY by riding the monorail all the way around again or by walking to POLY from GF. If you have time, you could also go to WL like tobikaye mentioned.

How late are you planning on staying out? I ask, because you will get the most of the Boardwalk if you go in the evening to see the entertainment, but you would need to go after your O'hana reservation in order to do that. If that is ok, I would take uber/lyft to AKL to see the savannah, then bus to MK (or uber/lyft over to GF), you can then do the monorail loop around to end at Poly for dole whip and O'hana. You can then bus to DHS and then take the boat to BWI or uber/lyft to BWI and simply ride a friendship boat around from there.

How? BW isn't connected to MK by any navigable waterways.
