Resort hopping day - what’s available?

I have read many threads about people doing a non-parks day that is dedicated to resort hopping, but most of the info is from the before-times.

We are looking for cheap/free things to do on our next Orlando trip, and I thought I’d maybe park at DS and then use Disney transportation to get around and see the different resorts, ride the boats and sky liner, etc.

Any advice? I know AKL hasn’t opened hotel rooms, but can we still go see animals? Are there any of the tours or ambassadors there? I know the resort has to be running in some capacity because of DVC. Anything happening in the Crescent Lake area? Are the surry bikes available to rent? Does AoA have the drawing classes back yet? I know we can’t use the resort pools, but is there any programming back that we could do? I assume the sing along is not yet open at FW, but maybe open air movies somewhere?

Does anyone have a list of hidden Mickeys or other things to look for if we wanted to do a scavenger hunt with the kids? I thought maybe doing that and some cool pictures with the statues at AoA and ASMo.

Any other suggestions? We don’t really have the budget for Character meals, but might like to try some treats or QS meals.

AKL lobby and viewing area are open. There are no cultural ambassadors present and no guides to engage in conversation about the animals.

No Boardwalk evening entertainment. But an ice cream shop with a menu similar to Beaches and Cream recently opened. IIRC, bike rentals have returned.

Nighttime movies on the lawn have returned to the resorts but are on a limited basis. YC/BC and BWI alternate nights. I'm not sure about the schedule at other resorts. No campfire singalong or marshmallow roasts right now.

There's a website or two dedicated to Hidden Mickeys and a book by Steven M. Barrett. I'm sure that if you google, you will find resort scavenger hunt ideas.

Thank you! I googled and it looks like the resorts each have (had?) their own official ones. Do you know if any are handing those out since the pandemic?
